YT 2000 Club Donating Member | I will add my opinion and exhortations; eye problems are almost always an emergency situation, in people or dogs. This dog needs to be seen by an emerg vet now. Please let us know how your boy is.

| I did wonder if I should say anything, but she did ask. This is what happened to my baby and these were the directions from the vet without seeing her. I do live in Canada, so we can purchase these things over the counter here. Good Luck with your little one, and please keep us posted! |

| I do hope they are at the vets now and that little baby is getting a good diagnosis and treatment for that eye. Eyes can hurt sooooo bad when they are injured even a little bit and dogs are so stoic about their pain, usually only yelping out with sudden or stabbing pain. They can hide other pain so effectively many times.

As for the Benadryl.......ml is not a dosage. It is a volume amount and there are mg/ml that you use for dosing calculations. When dosing it would be mg/lb...not ml/lb Many people mix those up and it is dangerous. That is the reason I never give dosages to people because they don't understand the difference and a tiny pup could be overdosed. When in doubt, it is always safer to tell someone to consult with a licensed professional.

| I sure hope you got that baby to a vet. Eye injuries are terribly painful and need immediate vet care.

| Hope you were able to get your little one to the emergency vet. Shortly after I got Abby, I noticed she was squinting with her left eye and seemed to be in pain. I took her right away to her vet and he found a scratch on her cornea. Referred me to an eye doctor. She has been diagnosed with dry eye. She is on eye drops (3 different ones) twice a day. I watch her carefully for any further signs of squinting or pain. Sorry, I didn't mean to go on and on. I do hope your little one is ok.
