I have been thinking about Winky. I am so sorry it wasn't better news. I don't know anything about this condition, but I will continue to pray for Winky. I know he has the best people looking after is needs.

I wish I could offer something useful to you & Winky but, the only thing I know of cardiomyopathy is from the movie, Beaches. I believe the character, Barbara Hershey contracted hers via a "virus".

After doing a little reading, it was interesting to know that this condition is seen more often in "large/giant breed dogs", Great Danes, Dobies all the way down to Cocker Spaniels but, no mention of Yorkies.

They also say it can be "familial"...that kind of contradicts what Winky's Vet said, doesn't it?

I am soo sorry to hear of Winky's diagnosis. We were all hoping for better news. But, I know you have and will give him the best life possible. Your pup is fortunate to have you for his mom. Hope someone has experience with and can give you some good advice for the management of his condition. Praying for a miracle of healing for you pup.

I'm sorry to hear it is DCM. I have seen many pts outlive prognoses. Winky might surprise you how well he can compensate in spite of the DCM. This will be my prayer. Winky surprises everyone how well he does.
