| Sending prayers to ease Winky's discomfort and enable him to breathe easier. May the specialist find a treatment to allow him to be able to enjoy a good game of fetch. Best wishes to you and Winky. You will be in our thoughts and in our prayers. Best wishes.

| I'm soooo sorry. How scary and Winky is far too young to have to deal with it. I'll be keeping him in my thoughts and prayers and checking for updates. Poor guy.

| Sorry to hear poor little Winky is sick. From working in human cardiology, I would agree w the suggestions to get a cardiac ultrasound. It is noninvasive and gives a good idea of what is going on structurally in the heart. I will keep little Winky in my prayers.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I'm thinking about all of you, and hoping for good news from the specialists. The specialist could look further into the poss of CT...bc even tho he had that xray, it's still a poss diagnosis. Keep your phone close by during all of this, bc if he has either an RS episode (his more normal episodes), or he has a bad/gasping episode - get it on video so you have it, and can show it to the specialists. You are all in our thoughts and prayers, and all of our paws are crossed for Winky .

| I am so sorry to hear about Winky, he is so young! It's tough, but don't give up hope. My Italian Greyhound was coughing a little and her vet did a chest xray and it showed an enlarged heart. She was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, and its really due to a mitral valve prolapse. That was three years ago. She sees an internist and I really think she might be gone now had I not taken her to him. Hopefully the specialist can recommend a course of treatment that will extend Winky's life considerably. It's hard, but try to hold onto the hope.

| Many thanks to our YT family for the good thoughts and good info for Winky. He seems to be doing better yesterday and today. He's been getting some acupuncture this week and seems to respond pretty well to that. Thankfully there has been no more fainting or gasping for air episodes. We will be seeing a cardiologist next week and Winky will be getting an ultrasound as well. Winky really is a fighter and he still STILL STILL wants to play fetch even last night. But we just let him chew on his toy instead of throwing it endlessly as we usually do. He still looked at me with his baby puppy dog eyes, like "why aren't you THROWING it, Dad?" He slept through the night fine last night, we lowered the temperature in our house a bit (it's been unusually warm and a bit muggy around her the past week) and used a table fan on low at night time for him. So we'll continue to do that. We'll do whatever we can for our little guy. We are very fortunate that we can bring the boys to work with us, so we have been able to monitor him 24/7 pretty much every day. It'd be nerve-wracking if they were home alone and we didn't know how he was, though most boys do mostly sleep during the day, at work or at home. I've been a bit absent-minded the past few days, didn't even think about getting it on video if we see something happen, so great idea, Ann! Thanks for thinking about our little Winky! |
