Great news that Summer is with LJ where she will get a lot of loving and wonderful care. y Prayers continue for summer that she will continue to grow stronger and healthier everyday.God Bless all of her caregivers, they are certainly Angels. |
OMG! What an emotional roller coaster these 31 pages have been. Paris and I send love and hugs to Summer and Lady Jane. |
Poor thing she is soooo cute! That is sooo sad that happened. Keep us updated. Praying for her. |
Summer is eating SO well. She takes her meds like a little trooper and tolerates the ice packs to her neck. I can remove the wrap on her neck today or tomorrow...I am thinking of waiting until tomorrow and taking her to vet to have it done. I don't like the thought of causing her any discomfort...and I know my vet and staff will be happy to see Summer! :) |

Wonderful! Sounds like she is heading down the right path to get back to being herself! She really has been such a trooper through this all!! |
So glad all is going so well!!! I like the idea of taking her to your vet too. So relieved she's with you LJ to take care of her!!! Huge hugs to you both!!!! |
So glad summer is doing so well :D She's in good hands! |
1 Attachment(s) Took Summer to my vet today for her dressing to be removed and the incision checked. She had some purulent drainage but her incision looks terrific. My vet called the surgeon and he is not concerned about the drainage..he recommended that we keep it wrapped for now (the original instructions were to keep it off after two days). She will be going back to my vet daily for a dressing change. Here is a picture of her incision...pretty scary looking. I am glad I did not see it before they closed it...clearly that thing was way worse than any of us realized. Oh, you can also see her little ear that is missing. :( They shaved it..no clue why they shaved that one and not the other....maybe it was hanging in her wound. Attachment 353766 |
Oh....and she is quite the little trooper. Follows me everywhere...and eats so well. :) When she got to my vet and saw the vet tech who cared for her, her little tail started wagging. She did remember her! :) |
Oh and she has gained 9 ounces!! :) |
She is so special! I can't believe how amazing she is doing and that she has even started gaining weight! The incision looks just awful:( The folks at Texas A&M are certainly doggy life savers. I bet you'll want to keep her Linda:) |

Oh and yes, A&M is an awesome place. They saved the life of one of my personal pups in 2004. |
OMG! That incision is just horrific... that poor little baby... so glad she is doing so well and a tuff little fighter. She certianly deserves to be treated like a little princess from here on in. It is so wonderful to know she is in such good loving care. |
Oh my gosh! That is such a GIANT incision on such a little dog! I'm so glad that Summer is home and doing better. Thank you for all that you are doing for this sweet baby and all of the rescue pups who find their way to you!!!!! |
