Sniff, sniff. Poor baby. I could cry when I think of her pain, fear & confusion. She has no idea why she is feeling so out of it.

The morning report is about the same. Summer continues to do well....she is eating and still wagging her tail at everyone.

They will be changing her dressings later today. They are hoping the sensitivity report will be in today so they can make a decision regarding antibiotics. They did say that she probably will be there until next week. If I hear more later on, I will update!

I love being able to give these reports!! Last week was dreadful for me....I really thought we were going to lose her.

I just got home from shopping and yes, there is an evening report. She called me while I was out. Summer's labs are improving and she is doing well so they discontinuted her IVs. She will be starting on oral antibiotics tomorrow! The sensitivity report is back and not so good news, but not dreadful either. There is a bacteria in her lung that is resistant to all but two antibiotics which they really do not want to give to her because of the risk of renal toxicity. Hopefully her immune system will kick in from all of the great care she has been getting and she won't need to take the questionable antibiotics. It is so wonderful to hear how well she is doing in such a relatively short amount of time. Thank god she got to you when she did.

OK, not sure how I feel right now.

Glad there is good news on her neck wounds but pretty frightened over this resistant bug in her lung.

I guess I will be greatfull for the good news and hopefull on the rest.
