LJ, thanks so much for the daily updates. It's so good to have a BCC nurse on the case;). Hope that nasty MRSA gets under control quickly. |
Just received a call from the student assigned to Summer and the report this morning is encouraging! Summer's wounds are draining less and have good granulation tissue. They may be able to close one up in a few days. The other one is much more invasive and it make take a few more days after that for it to be closed. Her coagulation is looking much better since yesterday so they took her off of plasma and are now using hetastarch. No news yet on the sensitivity. She is eating anything they put in front of her! :) She has a nice cushy bed in her little cage she said and whenever anyone walks up to her she promptly stands up and wags her little tail. A totally precious little baby!! |
Everytime you post I am amazed at Summer's attitude. It is hard to believe with everything she has been through that she can still have such a happy spirit. I am so glad she is getting the proper care and on her way to recovery! She is going to make someone a precious little furbaby! I love hearing the encouraging updates! Keep them coming! |
Summer has an amazing spirit and is such an inspiration. :) Very happy to hear she is making good progress. |

Summer is such a pretty girl. I can't wait to see her once she gets past all this! She is so lucky that you got her! Prayers and hugs to Summer. |

My heart just breaks for Miss Summer. I'm glad that she is responding to treatment. Many prayers still continue. |
Oh my goodness, Linda! Those pictures certainly pull at your heartstrings. As I sit here and watch my little ones run and play without a worry in the world, it makes me so sad to think about all that Summer has had to endure....the loss of her ear and the attack by a huge dog. Ugh!!! Then to think she still wags her tail and trusts and is able to love, just makes me cry - Yorkies are amazing and unique little creatures! She is truly a miracle - thank you for making this happen and sharing it with all of us. |
It breaks my heart every time I look at them. I think of her constantly....she really is a sweet girl and it kills me that she has been treated the way she has. She does look good though in spite of it all. I guess I feel that way because I am just so thankful that they were able to save her. |
What a sweet little dollbaby. To be wagging her tail after all this. Still saying prayers for her. |
I love this baby I hope she keeps getting better fast. |

I am just getting caught up on Summer's story. It always amazes me how inspiring these little Haven pups are to me and she is no exception. I will continue to pray for her and her caregivers, both are amazing. :) |
