Just got the evening report and all is good! The final reports are in and Summer has had Doxycycline added to her medications for Mycoplasma which was found in her lung. As for the resistant bacteria, they do not believe it was infective. The student said she has been doing some reading and has found that it is commonly found in the respiratory system of dogs.

Summer is on the list for anesthesia tomorrow for a dressing change. More than likely they will close her wounds on Thursday! Maybe even both sides!

She said that Summer is very vocal about food now! :) The techs told her that Summer knows where the food is kept and when anyone goes near that area, Summer starts yapping to be fed!! :D

Sounds like she might be discharged towards the end of the week or the beginning of next week! Very promising! :)

I love to hear this!! Hope she puts on some weight with that great appetite.

Wonderful news!!! So glad she has an appetite and is letting ppl know!

That sounds familiar about the respiratory tract. In humans, ppl would be surprised what disgusting stuff is found in ppl's nose's when they culture. It's just our "normal flora" (bacteria that lives there without harming us).

She is such a beautiful little girl!

So true. I remember culturing things around the college for microbiology class. We grew some pretty icky stuff.

The morning update was great! They are hoping to close her wounds later today. :)

Yeah I am so glad that the morning update was good.
I hope they are able to close her wound. Prayers still continue.

The past couple of nights I have not heard anything until 8PM. I imagine it will be around that time today. I am so anxious to hear if they were able to close both sides of her neck. That will be major! Those wounds have horrified me.

If they horrified you....I can only imagine how horrible they were. That would be so great if they did that today, poor thing has been through so much. If they closed both sides of the neck...could she be back home by the weekend? That would be excellent:)
