I am SO happy that you now know...and yes, I am sure she will clear up. Dixie did...she does have some minor scarring in some areas but it shows more on her because she is a dachshund and has short hair. She does not get any shots...DHPP or rabies any more. Thanks for the update! Please keep us posted on her progress!

| Dixie's chart is marked that she is Allergic to shots. You are right...NO MORE! Make your vet put it on the front of her chart!

I plan to talk to my regular vet tomorrow about the visit with the Derm Vet. I am going to ask that they be sure to note Emee's records regarding the vaccine. I too read the article about the different manufacturer and shot locations. I'm just too worried to even try the shot again. The Derm Vet said they will work with the county regarding the rabies shot going forward. This is just too scary!!!

| Here is a link about cutaneous vasculitis. I did not post the others that I found prior because I did not feel that they accurately described it. But..this is good information. I just wish there was more out there....and certainly some pics would be helpful. Cutaneous Vasculitis and Vasculopathy - WSAVA 2004 Congress Keep in mind that this is a drug reaction.

I didn't even know that there was an option not to get the shot again that’s good news. Wonder if this is true in all states? I wouldn't trust Wikipedia for anything really important, but it can give someone an "overview" of a topic in a way that the layman can understand. Also, over the years it has gotten more accurate because people can challenge inaccurate information, and their references can give you much more detailed information from legitimate sources.

| I believe that you can get a waiver in all states. I can tell you this: I would not care what the state law was...my pup would not have another rabies shot after something like this. Usually the state will take a letter from a vet saying the pup had a reaction.

| I have to agree with ladyjane. After going thru this with Emee, I could not imagine letting a vet give her another vaccine. I m glad I knew enough to not let them give her Lepto.

♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | This makes me really wonder about Lexi's spot that just showed up. But never ever any sores or any other signs.. What does this do untreated? I really just thought she was changing colors. And she had been at the vet for blood work and all before her spay. I feel so bad about how she passed and now this has me wondering if I missed something with this spot.
