| Limping leg Last night Snickers started limping and then not even putting his front left leg down (no weight or pressure on it at all). He ate his food and still played (a little bit) but he wasn't himself. Took him to the vet first thing this morning and they think its bruised or maybe fractured. They gave him meds and he is on crate rest until Monday then we do another check up. He seems to be doing ok, although still not walking on his leg. Brought him home and we ate Greek yogurt and we are laying on the sofa watching Nip/Tuck. I hope he is back to normal soon! His brother Twix is so jealous lol. I have to keep them separated now because Twix is very playful but rough and I don't want him to hurt Snickers. Yogurt faces! |

| Poor Snickers. Try not to let him walk on the leg at all. Strict crate rest is always best. My Max hurt his leg a couple of days ago and we have the same agenda. (love Nip/Tuck)

| Thank you ladies!! How is Max healing up? I'm keeping him off his leg but I wonder when it stops hurting will he know to put it down and star walking on it or will be be so use to walking with it lifted out of fear. I have been going crazy worrying about him! |

| I'm pretty sure he'll start walking regularly again once he's not hurting. What kind of meds did they give him? I think Max is healing. He's been holding his leg up the 2x I couldn't prevent him from running (now I've changed that!). So today everything seems normal so far.

| Glad everything seems normal with your Max. The vet prescribed a bottle of metacam instead of a few doses as she said it was something good to have around just in case something happens with two dogs. |

| My Max is taking Metacam too. It should dull the paid a little bit. Do you know what caused Snickers to limp? Are you keeping him in a crate?

| The vet suspects a possible fracture and it was not xrayed? I would get that done soon...and if it is fractured, those front legs do not heal with a splint. He will need an orthopedic surgeon for it. I have seen vets try to splint them and the pups ending up needing a plate and screws...and sometimes losing legs if they let it go too long. Very bad place for a fracture.

| She was leaning more towards bruised but she said it could possibly be fractured. She wanted to see what the medicine and the resting would do for him, and if no improvement then xrays would be done on Monday. It seems my boy is doing a little better, it looks like the leg is hanging a little closer to the ground so that is a good sign! Hoping for continued healing! |

| Hope you got his leg X-Ray'd. If it is a fracture, blood supply could be comprimised. Had a broken leg here, Ortho Surgeon, Plate and screw, 100% now. Find a new Vet and take him to a BOARD CERTIFIED Surgeon. Best of luck |

| Hey Alldogboots....definite improvement. He puts it down a lot more and is putting more weight on it. The vet called to check on him and said that was a good thing. She said if no change then it would be a problem. However, I think Shodanusmc is right. I will take him to another vet, a second opinion definitely will make us feel better! Thank you all! |
