So glad Princess got seen and taken care of by a qualified vet! BonBon and AllDogBoots to the rescue! I'm also glad to hear she's not eating dry oatmeal and is on canned food!

I just got caught up on Princess..I haven't been on much since this morning. I am sitting here crying...#1 because Princess is ok now and #2. because of the caring help you got from Karen and Bonnie. Just one more reason that I love YT. Saying prayers that Princess continues to heal.

Wow!!! I just got caught up on Princess too and I started to cry reading about how BonBon and AllDogBoots helped you...what amazing and wonderful people they are!!!

I am so happy you got her in to a better vet and got her the help she needed and I pray that she continues to recover and get back to her healthy self!! Keep us updated on how she is doing!

Prayers are being answered in more ways than one.

Princess ate about a TB of the I/D then I pulled it to see how it settles. So far so good. Another YTer has reached out with a generous gift, enchilila.

I am just truly amazed.

I'm going to eat dinner now & try to just relax for a minute with DD & my puppy! I'm sure I'll be back on in a bit, this place is still as addictive as ever.

Thank you all so much, you are all so wonderful.

glad to hear she's feeling better. in the future for my pups if they throw up just once or twice i give them the correct dosage of pepcid. if it's more than a couple times in a day i'm off the the vet or ER vet no matter what.

I just saw this thread and read the whole thing. So many emotions!
First, I'm so happy that Princess is doing better!
Second, what a blessing YT and the angels on it are! I sense that someday your situation will turn around and you will "pay it forward", helping yet another dog because of these actions.
Third, that first vet was a total DOORKNOB! Please spread the word to avoid him! I
I hope you find work soon and that Princess and your family stay healthy.

She kept the food down but was uninterested in much more. I mixed some cottage cheese in & she didn't want it but did eat about a TB of cottage cheese alone. And this just in...a normal pee!

The vet we saw this evening was great. Very in tune with Princess as a yorkie & not just a dog. She said a lot of the same things I hear here, so she must know her stuff. She actually relaxed & answered a million questions with no problem.

I'm so glad she is eating! Is she cleared with her vet to eat cottage cheese?

Why are you giving cottage cheese to a sick dog? This is exactly how you got in trouble in the first place. Her GI tract has to rest! I also have no idea why this vet did not run blood work and opted for 4 xrays - I would have had a problem with that myself.

Do the dog a favor - let her rest, give her the i/d when she wants to eat. She's pumped up with fluids and does not need to eat today. Try in the morning.

If a vet told me I could feed cottage cheese to my dog who was in gastrointestinal distress I would not listen to that vet.

I don't have much experience with it, but that is why I asked. Dairy especially is pretty harsh
