Peanut is going to the vet AGAIN....

When I took him to the vet awhile back, we just thought it was flea allergies. I put him on Advantage 2 and things seemed to be getting better...well, they are not. So, I am taking him back to the vet in the morning @ 11:00. The earliest that I could get. We are a small town.
I am going to ASK for skin scrapings tomorrow. I will mention the other dogg that we are baby sitting. What do I do, if my Peanut got this from him, (the one we are babysitting) He has been here for 7 months and his owner is in a nursing home rehab situation and I am the only one that can or will take care of him. He has been bald for years and she said the vet she took him to could not find what was wrong with him????

I am just really worried about Peanut and want him better. He is miserable and so am I.

If it is something contagious, you are going to have to make a decision. Either find someone else to watch the other dog or have them both treated. It just seems to coincidental that the baldness only started after you started watching the other dog. The odds of both of them having a non-infectious condition that causes them to loose hair seems pretty astronomical, though it can happen.

I didn't really think about Peanut losing his hair since Torie (the babysitting dog) came to stay with us, until I started postin ghere and thinking back. I feel so badly. This is driving me nuts. There is no one else to watch this dog. His owner is in the nursing home, her children are scattered all over the U.S. I am the only one here for her. I will just have to tell her that he has to be treated or he has to go somewhere else.
I love Torie too, but, Peanut and Tink are my babies and I love them more... IS that bad????? I just want them to be ok. Tink is fine. But, she is older and stays out of the way of the other dog. But, Peanut sleeps with her sometimes. I will tell the vet about Torie and Tink too. Although, She seems to have no problems. I am going to call the owner now, and kind of give her a heads up on what could be going on. So, that she won't be so shocked when I tell her what the vet says.

Just curious, did you ever find out anything more about Peanut? I hope that he is doing better.
