Thank you!! The blood tests that were ran were the same as the first but she said they would check more this time-I can't remember what exactly so I don't want to say until I get the email from her. I will for sure be watching her like a hawk and if she has any symptoms at all I will take her back in immediately!! |

I can understand that and I wondered if the bile acids test should be repeated and I may still ask them to do that. As far as the BC - I am sorry but there are MANY Vets in the world and I don't believe that the ONLY ones qualified to take care of animals are the ones that are BC....just my opinion. I am the one that has to live with the consequences of my decisions so believe me I did not make any lightly. I am thrilled too and I will do everything in my power to make sure she lives a long, healthy and wonderful life because she is the light of mine!! |

I did not say that BC vets were the "only" ones qualified to "take care of animals" -- I said that unless a specialist is BC, that person/vet is not qualified ENOUGH in my opinion. By the way, Lucy is the one who has to live with the consequences of your decisions. |
Just my thoughts.... LUCY is a very well taken care of, happy dog who has way better parents now than she had when she was a puppy and I thank GOD everyday that she came into our lives. I am sorry but I also live with the decisions because if I make the "incorrect" decision then I know Lucy will suffer but so will I. I understand the passion of you all on here but I think sometimes I feel like I am being attacked and made to think that I am a bad mom...I thank you for the advice but I think "advice" is as far as this should go and there are many, many, many of you on here that are very supportive and just here for that and I THANK YOU for that. You all know know what we are going through and you should understand that we are here for helpful advice and support we are not here so we can feel bad about our decisions or be accused of being a bad parent (you may not say it but your words of "advice" sometimes imply that-and not just on my thread). Words typed are sometimes interpreted differently than they are meant to-it's hard to express emotion when typing so maybe I am interpreting them incorrectly and if that is the case then I am sorry. I love YT and I am soo happy I found it and I am soo happy to meet knew friends!! If there are any changes in Lucy I will continue to update and ask for advice and I am grateful for all of your advice so far. I am so happy that she is doing well and I will definitely follow up with blood tests and I may go back to BP to have them run the bile acids again but I may wait the 4-6 weeks and have them run both the blood and BA's again so they can both be done at that clinic instead of one here and one there.... |

You are not the only one reading this thread, and people coming on this board need to have information -- not a rubber stamp to make them feel good. That is not implying that you are or are not a good dog owner or that your decisions are right or wrong. That is your perception of the posts. I hope my posts make people think long and hard about the issues - and make them realize it isn't about the owner but the dog. It is always about the dog. It is about Lucy, and any other dog whose owner happens upon this thread. If I make friends along the way, I always have room in my life for another. But if I don't that is ok, I'd rather people hate my guts but reflect upon my words because I know I have something to offer to readers stumbling on this forum. I have been in the shoes of an owner with a sick dog (or sometimes three sick at once) and some members here have been there many more times than I have and for many more serious issues. We all have something to offer. I don't think we should rubber stamp to spare people's feelings. I think we should always speak for the dog. I think we should encourage people to be good advocates for their animals, and I think collectively we do that very well on this forum. I hope you will stick around and become a valuable fiber in our tapestry here on YT. |
Hi Ann and Lucy thank you for the updates on your little girl. I am so happy to hear Lucy is doing well and her bloodwork came back ok. Hugs to you and Lucy, and again, welcome to YT! :) |

All I was trying to get across is that when you don't agree with someones decisions regarding their furbaby then you should be more tactful with your responses because emotions are running high and things that are said are taken quite literally. I understand that this thread and all others are for everyone and for everyone to learn and there are some that are much more knowledgeable than others and that's why I came on here and I am not going anywhere. I too love to make new friends and if I do great and if I don't then they don't know what they are missing because I am a great friend! :) Not implying anything with the last statement at all...just trying to lighten things up! :) |
:) Thank you so much - I am very happy too and will be keeping a very close eye on my baby!! Hugs right back at ya!! Quote:
