Aww, poor Lucy. Leaving them at the vet is always hard. Praying for good test results. |

! I can't wait until they call and I will be there within minutes! The vets always ask what my schedule is and if I need to come later to pick her up they will keep her longer....I always make sure I am available to pick up as soon as she is done even when she and Tubby go to the groomer I am anxious to get them both right away because they don't need that added stress of staying longer and I don't want them thinking that I am not coming back~ya know?! Ahhhhh.....I know she is well taken care of but I can't wait to get her back!!!! |
Initial results in..... Okay here we go! I took Lucy to Alexandria Veterinary Clinic this morning at 9:30am for her blood tests and bile acids. I am MUCH more comfortable with this clinic and I believe I have finally found my permanent Vet and clinic! YAY! I initially took her there for grooming and I really liked the groomer as well. I dropped her off and when I went to pick her up I talked to Dr. Mark Christenson regarding the initial results (which I will post below) and just to touch base with him about Lucy's case. He was very thorough and patient, he asked questions and allowed me to ramble on about what has been going on with her the past few weeks and it just seemed like the right fit. He wanted to know exactly what kind of food and treats I was giving her and asked me to bring the ingredient list back for both of them so he could look at it and keep it in her file, he also talked about a prescription diet but said we can determine if that is what she needs once the BA results come in. I did speak to the Dr at Blue Pearl and let them know of my Vet change and they work with Alex Vet Clinic often and said that it was okay to have the tests done there and then AVC will fax them to BP and once all the results are in I will get a call from AVC and BP as well. Here is what the initial testing came back with: ALKP: 28 ALT: 44 BUN: 16 CREA: 0.9 GLU: 96 TP: 6.4 We should get the BA results tomorrow or Monday!!! It sounds as though she ate well (which I was concerned about with the first test) and she was a VERY GOOD GIRL!!! She came home hungry so I gave her a little food but didn't want to overfeed her because I wasn't sure how much she got this morning ~ I sent some of her regular food and they said she ate some of that and some of the food they gave her ~ so I didn't give her a lot. Now she is snug as a bug on her bed....it has been a long day already for her and she is very sleepy!! Oh and she was due for a heartworm test as well and with all of this going on I forgot so we got that out of the way today too and that came back negative so we are all good there too! Well, now I just have to pray that her BA test comes back good as well. :p |
Oh, I am praying for little lucy. yes it is always hard to leave them overnite, and to find a vet you can trust. I hope everything goes well for you and lucy. When something is wrong with our babies, it affects us too. With much love..........from katie, jake, rusty and sam |
Glad to hear Lucy was a good girl and that she is home again. I assume all of those test results are within in the normal range, so that is great news. Praying the BA also bring good news. Did the doctor seem optimistic? |

The Dr didn't seem optimistic but didn't seem worried either just matter of fact. He said he just had a schnauzer that had a LS and he ended up having surgery. He didn't make assumptions which I liked because we don't know he just said we will wait for the BA to come back and then regroup after that. |

Much love you you all too!!! :) |
So far so good! Sounds like the new vet is a good choice, it's very important that they spend time and listen to what you can tell them... and not be in a hurry! Sending prayers for good BAT results... I know... waiting is the worst part! Stay busy...lol!:D |

With ALP and ALT that wonderful, my guess is there will be normal BAT. I really hope so! |
Yep, I am sure the BATs will be normal. That is great news indeed! |

Oh I will try but I am taking my cell phone with me EVERYWHERE just in case they call!! :D I will try to stay busy! THANK YOU! :) |

ME TOO!!! Thank you!!! The only conclusion I can come to is that it was a combination of her old food and getting a few too many scraps off the table from my mom and occasionally from us at home?! |

YES IT IS!! THANK YOU!! I am so hopeful that the BATs will be normal as well!! The only thing I can figure as to what happened (as I said to 107barney) is that it was a combination of her old food and too many table scraps from us and my mom?! |
Hoping with those good test scores she is going to have good BA results as well. I know you can't wait to get the results. Keeping her in my prayers for good results. |
Hi Ann :) Just want to send good thoughts for you and Lucy for her BA's to come back A-OK!!! I am sure they will. It is good to hear she is feeling well now. Big huggles :):) |
