Words typed are sometimes interpreted differently than they are meant to-it's hard to express emotion when typing so maybe I am interpreting them incorrectly and if that is the case then I am sorry.

I love YT and I am soo happy I found it and I am soo happy to meet knew friends!!

If there are any changes in Lucy I will continue to update and ask for advice and I am grateful for all of your advice so far.

I am so happy that she is doing well and I will definitely follow up with blood tests and I may go back to BP to have them run the bile acids again but I may wait the 4-6 weeks and have them run both the blood and BA's again so they can both be done at that clinic instead of one here and one there....

I think that is a good plan. If you have decided to stick with black pearl's services, I too would get all the bloodwork done there. Just a thought you might want to check in with the specialist to see if they can draw on the same visit enough blood for the full blood panel and BATS. Oh yes and the shortform LS= Liver shunt .

I am very happy your pup is doing well now, and certainly hope everything continues in that vein.

Yes, I planned on calling Blue Pearl to see if that is possible or if we will have to make two trips.

I would go with the U of MN but it takes a long time to get in and it's a long process to get her in there so this was the better option.
I talked to two Vets here in Alex and they both said that Blue Pearl is a great place and I got the name of one of the Dr's there they both said is highly recommended!!

You are right there is something not right and we need to get to the bottom of it or I will go crazy!

I am anxious and can't wait for Thursday now, I just hate stressing her out more by driving two hours to the specialist but it will be worth it in the long run!

I will look to see if there is a Board Certified Specialist somewhere other than the U of M and see what I can find but I am not sure what I will do.

I thank you for the advice but I will figure it out from here and make the decision because to be honest I keep getting so much advice now that my head is spinning and I am getting a bit frustrated. I have a hard time believing that the 15 specialists in the state of MN are the only ones that can diagnose a shunt.

All I was trying to get across is that when you don't agree with someones decisions regarding their furbaby then you should be more tactful with your responses because emotions are running high and things that are said are taken quite literally.

If I felt that "its all abut money and because they accept that form of payment you are willing to go anywhere", I would have said so. I don't lurk in the shadows and if you stick around you will see that I say exactly what it on my mind. I have quoted you above...you did make up your mind at that time. I did not imagine it.

I said that I felt your mind was made up at that time...it was simply that...a time....and a point of reference.

You can hate me and my advice and even put me on ignore...just try not to put words into my posts. If you need clarification, ASK. Don't just say what you think I mean and stew over it.

I never said you are a bad owner either. I have continued to post for all of the other folks who want the advice that some of us offer. That was the point of my post...that while you had made up your mind, I was posting for the benefit of others who would actually welcome the advice. I do realize that there is another "force" on YT and people who don't exactly approve of what the majority does. Just not my problem. I say what I am thinking and they should as well...it is just too bad that they want it to look like a war and insinuate that many of us don't accept their ideas. Honestly, there are many whom I have no respect for as pet owners and they know it...BUT they are free to post here as is anyone else. The goal that I have is not to make friends, but to help the pups. If I make a few friends along the way that's a bonus.

The one thing that is jumping out at me this afternoon is that you are really back where you started. If your vet had simply faxed records to the Univ of MN and you had waited, I believe that everything could have been done in one day. It almost looks like they are starting over? I don't know..I could be wrong. I had a long day and all I can say is that I am glad you are happy with this new vet. I do hope it all works out well for Lucy's sake.

I never said I hated you-I barely know you how can I hate you?!

Just because I don't do exactly as you tell me to do doesn't mean that I don't welcome the advice but I do have a mind of my own (and I would like to think it's pretty sharp-but not always) and in the end I think we all process the advice and then do what we think is best for OUR babies-which is our right to do.

I respect what you do and I am so happy there are people like you to be an advocate for the furbabies in the world who don't have a voice but my baby has an advocate already and that's me!

I don't want to go back and forth - I will respect your opinion as long as you respect mine.

All I was saying is that you made a complaint about my posts and you were putting words in that I never said. Hate was a figure of speech.

I also never suggested that you had to do what I said. I had actually stopped posting for your benefit; but since so many negative things were stated about board certified and also vet schools, I felt an obligation to voice an opinion for the benefit of others. For some reason you did not seem to understand that part of it and kept talking about how you have your own mind. And..you are still saying that. We all do...I am fully aware of that fact.

Hi everyone!
I just wanted to let you know I am taking Lucy in tomorrow morning for her follow up blood tests and Bile Acids. Please say a little prayer that they come back normal again.
She has had no symptoms at all since the last vet visit so I am very hopeful that all will go well.

I will update with the results as soon as I get them!!
