I am saying some prayers now for your furbabies. Thankfully you caught it and rushed them to the ER. I knew about xylitol from a poster at my vet office, but I didn't put two and two together on it being in food items like marinades. I'm checking labels...Thank you for the heads up. |
Im keeping your girls in my prayers and good thoughts |

Sending prayers for a complete recovery. |
We're adding our prayers for your babies recovery. Also, please be careful of waters that may contain artifical sweeteners. As the warmer weather approaches please be mindful of pour your bottle of water for the babies to drink from. It's something that we do instinctually so please, please just check labels before giving them any. |

I swear I learn something here at least once a week! I didn't think of the waters - I do drink flavored water. Will have to make sure pup doesn't ever get a hold of one. Thank you! |
Sending prayers to your babies. |
Keeping your babies in my prayers still.... |
update Cassie's blood sugar down to 78 again after vomiting Muffin blood sugar okay |
Praying for your babies. They are getting good care, so take comfort in that:) Don't beat yourself up, you realized quickly and got them help:) I honestly wouldn't have even known. I never knew that it was that toxic to dogs, but I'm definatly not surprized. I was told by my OB when I was pregnant not to eat or drink ANY sugar substitutes and my son's pediatrician also told me to never give him any. Raised a red flag for me all together. I personaly can't stand the taste of any of them, so I don't eat or drink anything "sugar free" anyway, so it's never in my house. My dh picked up iced tea at the store the other day and accidentaly got diet, I took one drink of it (he poured me a glass, I didn't see the label) and I had a stomach ache before I realized. I poured it down the drain, yuck. Good that you threw it all in the trash, it's not healthy for you either. I hope they are feeling better soon and can home to you:) |
adding my prayers for your babies. I am so sorry, I can just feel your fear. I truly hope all is well, thank you for keeping us posted. |
Sending prayers. Sure hope they are okay. I can not imagine what you are going thru. Try to stay positive for your little ones and yourself. |
I am sending prayers for you babies. Buster ate some chewing gum while on a walk and I ended up taking him to the vet to be checked because I was not sure if it had xylitol or not. My heart goes out to you as I remember how afraid I was for Buster. I hope they both stabilize and that it has not harmed them. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers tonight. Best Wishes. |
I'm praying for Muffin and Cassie. Sending hugs to all of you. We are all here for you. |
Many prayers going out for Muffin and Cassie. I will keep checking for updates. |
My prayers are with you!!!!! |
Praying for you and your babies. I know how scared you must be. |
Oh no.................I'm sorry this has happened! I had NO idea that anything like that was bad for our babies!!!! Please keep us updated on how they are doing!!!! Prayers are with you!!!! |
How very scary for you....:( Prayers being said for your babies... |
Cassie's blood sugar is at 82 and they say it is going in the right direction Muffins blood sugar is at 120 They are acting okay, but the most important thing is the liver function test tonight at 8pm They say that they can be okay on the sugar levels and still go into liver failure or have a badly damaged liver, so I am still terrified. They are not eating, so I offered to bring their food (the honest kitchen food mixed with a little cream cheese) and they said that would be good. So I am going to take a shower, get dressed and stop crying and try to think straight. I am going to try to look nice, not like a disheveled ghost or street person wringing her hands with her hair sticking straight up like the bride of frankenstein, and I'm going to cook up some food and try to feed them. They said I can go down and spend time with them. So I am trying to pull myself together. Thank you all so much for your prayers. I think they may be working. Please keep praying for us. Having you all here, I think it is saving my life. Grateful forever, Shellie |
I have seen the power of prayer work many times on YT, including my own personal pleas for my dog. Hang in there. We are here for you. |
Call from ER. Cassie breathing hard. May have aspirated some of the vomit this morining. The are treating her with antibiotics in case she is developing aspiration pneumonia. |
Praying for those little babies. Prayer does change things and we are trusting in the fact they will be just fine. Kayla got in my purse and ate a sugar free cough drop a couple of years ago. She was fine and I was a basket case. They come through alot and surprise us and just keep believing for your babies that everything is going to be alright. |
Sending continued prayers for you and your babies. |
Sending extra prayers for your pups and you... God please help these babies pull through this situation... and give their Momma strength... Amen. The dextrose may be making them not feel hungry... one gets hungry as one's glucose drops, signaling one to eat. As their glucose is rising, the signaling may not occur. |
Prayers for your babies on their way. |
Shellie, big hugs to you during this stressful time. I said a prayer just now for your girls. Really hoping they are okay. |
My heart and prayer's are with you and the babies. Keep positive thoughts and all will work out!!! Hugs!!!! |
I'm so sorry you and your babies are going through this. I'll say a prayer for them and for you. Best wishes for a good outcome! |
