Just found your thread. I hope your precious girls are ok and come home to you really soon. So sorry you are going through this. I didn't know about the sweetner thing, I am going to go check my cabinets this evening.

I'm sorry to hear of the ingestion of xylitol. Xylitol is enticing to dogs and it is creeping into a lot of products. I went through a xylitol scare a few years ago when I spit out my gum and Barney went through the trash and ate it. Xylitol toxicity can happen in as little as 30 mins so it is good that you went to the ER vet right away.

I hope your babies pull through this and I will keep them and you in my prayers.

Thinking of positive thoughts for your babies! I'm actually in the next town over (Murrieta) so, if you need anything...just holler!;)

I just noticed today that my new pack of gum has that cr:rolleyes:p in it, too! Into the trash (at work) it goes...can't take that kind of chance with my girls who will ingest a dust bunny if they could!

I feel so badly for you and your babies. i hope they are going to be ok. PLease try not to blame yourself so much for this . I am certain they would not have ate anything that you knew was harmful to them, this is a tragic accident. It is good they are getting the vet care, and are being treated . I am so sorry you have to go throught this.

Cassie is on Oxygen, she has aspiration pneumonia. I got to see her and put my hand in the O2 tent, but I could not hold her.

I held Muffin for an hour and tried to feed her a little. She was happy to be with me.
She wouldn't eat her Honest Kitchen but she did lick a little cream cheese off my finger and ate some dried chicken bites.

At this time, Cassie needs all your SUPER prayers. Love to all

Quick question (just trying to wrap my brain around how toxic this stuff is_. Did they get any of the BBQ sauce at all or was it all meat? Just a few small pieces of meat that were flavored with the sauce, right?

I've been checking all day for updates on your little girls. I hold all of you in my heart and prayers. I knew all about the dangers of xylitol but never knew it would be in sauces and other foods. I am so sorry that this has happened, and I hope and pray that Cassie and Muffin get better.

The instructions said to score the meat and then poke holes in the meat with a fork, so the marinade would penetrate. They did not get any marinade directly. As a matter of fact, I took their meat from in between the two the grilled outer sides. And I even sucked the juice out of a few pieces to make sure they weren\'t getting any of the marinade.

on a side note...is there a thread or link to other harmful things I should read up on? I\'m not sure I would have thought twice about giving my furkids a piece of bbq meat.
