Little Basil had Surgery this afternoon

Just catching up on YT. Good thing you followed your gut feeling and had the xray done when you did. Basil will be fine in a few weeks and bossing you around. Update us when you get back from Carlo's appt.

I just saw the picture of Basil sleeping. What a cutie. Very happy that he is on the mend and counting down the days when he will be up and running around again.

I didn't know about little Basil. I haven't been on much lately. I'm glad he is doing well. He has the best place to recover. I hope Carlo is doing ok too.

He is doing fine. He hates being restricted to his X_pen as he wants freedom, and he loves to run, so we have to make sure he does not, especially when we take him outside on his leash. Next week he goes back to the surgeon to have the stitches removed and for a look see to make sure everything is good. He is in no pain, is eating, sleeping, and favors Marge, who is back home today. He is a fearless little guy, one reason he has a broke leg. Also, on a side note, my brother-in-law is still breathing.

Steve, my Scarlett broke her leg at about the same age as little Basil. She had screws put in. She did fine except for getting a bad case of cabin fever. The restrictions on their activity is the hardest thing to cope with. Don't worry, he'll make up for lost time as soon as the doc says it's ok.

As to your BIL, I'm sure you enjoy seeing him sweat more than having to spend money on flowers for him .

Basil was not scheduled to go in to the specialist but we noticed that his little wrapped splint seems to shift and fall down about 1/2 of an inch, so we bought him in this morning. THey took the old one off, X-Ray, resplinted and rewrapped. All is great. We will be taking him back next Tuesday when he will have the stitches removed and another splint and wrap. Will be a LONG 3 weeks.

I know it will be a long three weeks. I am glad his leg was ok today though.

just seeing this thread now....so sorry you all had to go through this after everything else. Seems as though you have great instincts! Glad to hear Basil is home and healing well. Hopefully all goes well with Carlo's visit too. How nice of them to name a wing after you

Glad he is doing so well! Crate rest is soooo tough! We'll help them through it somehow!
