| Little Basil had Surgery this afternoon Took him in for the exam of his leg and cast. The Vet said everything looks good as far as the cast and position, and to come back for an X-Ray next week. I said, for peace of mind, let's do an X-Ray now. She said good idea. Well, the result was not good. The reduction they did pulled apart, and the 2 little bones between the ankle and elbow were out of alignment. Took him to the best Surgeon in the state. He saw Basil as soon as we got there, looked at the X-Rays that we had, and said lets do it now. Basil went into surgery and had a tiny plate and screws inserted. He will then be splinted and wrapped, but no hard cast. This guy is the best, and said to expect 100% recovery. We will pick the little guy up tomorrow morning, and go back in 10-14 days to have the stitches removed. |

| He will heal well now, Steve. That is what Buffy just had done and she is doing well. I have had many pups with implants that did fantastic!

| What good parents you two are for little Basil. And thank goodness the surgery is over and he is recuperating already. At his young age, his long term prognosis is likely excellent for this type procedure. My prayers and best wishes are going out to Basil, you and your wife and her parents.

| So sorry Basil had to have surgery, but so glad it was done if it was needed! What a good mommy and daddy Basil has. Peyton came home today from his surgery on Wednesday. Looks like they have lots in common. When was Basil born, how much does he weigh? Peyton was born on Oct 23 and weighs 3 1/2 pounds. Will pray for a good recovery for Basil.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Wow were you lucky to have it taken care of so quickly, didn't even have time to stress out over the surgery. I'm glad your luck is a better this week than last. Hope little Basil is feeling better soon!

| Steve, I am so glad you went with your "gut feeling". Women call it intuition. Sounds like Basil is on the road to recovery. |

| You know Steve as active as the lil guy is, the surgery was probably the better way to go with him...
