				 | I'm so sorry Maxi is not feeling well. Sophia got a really upset tummy when we all went away over New Year's. She had diarrhea pretty bad. It seems like stress can bring this about?? I just know next time I am going to anticipate it and see if I can help her more in advance. Praying for Maxi. Please keep us updated. She is in good hands at the vet. You are doing your best for her.

				 | following up First, I want to say thank you to all for the well wishes, they really mean alot. I am such a mess, I just dont know what to do for my little man. I feel so helpless. So, I called the vet around 3pm and they told me that all the prelim blood test came back good, nothing abnormal there. Maxi hasnt vomited or went to the bathroom either, so they see this as good signs. Also, the xrays showed that he swallowed nothing but that his liver is enlarged. They didnt want to confirm why it was enlarged but the doc did say it may be due to inflamation because he was vomitting so much. So hopefully, the test results for the kidney and liver will come back clean tomorrow as well. I went to visit him around 5:30pm, they were very nice about letting me in and spending time with me. He went nuts when he saw me and the nurse said that he hasnt been that excited all day. I spent about an hour with him and then they were going to try to feed him and give him some water to see if can keep it down throughout the night. I hope he doesnt vomit it up. The blood in the vomit really freaked me out but they dont know why that is. So if he is okay through the night then we will be able to pick him up some time tomorrow, God willing. Thats all I know for know, but hopefully, he will be able to come home tomorrow.

				 | morning update Hi All, thanks for all the prayers. We really need them. After a completely sleepless night, I called the hospital this morning and they said that he hasn’t vomited at all and that he ate a little bit of breakfast so that’s good news but he is now running a fever. So they told me to call back after 2pm. I hate waiting. I can’t imagine why he has a fever now, he didn’t have one when we brought him in and he has been on antibiotics too. I hope it goes down soon.

				 | Maxi is finally home!! Hi All, Sorry I havent posted sooner, but I have really just been spending all my time with my little guy. We were able to take him home really late friday afternoon. He was scared at first when we got home, wanting me to just hold me that whole night but then by sat he was more himself. I have him on a really bland diet right now and the doc told me to feed him very small portions about 4 times a day until tomorrow. Then its back to twice a day. I am so happy he is home, I missed him so much and really he is like my child and I know people thought I was crazy but I was just so scared. I hope something like this never happens again!! Thanks again for all your prayers! xoxo Gabriela and Maxi

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I'm glad Maxi is doing well. Did you ever find out what caused the problem? If it's at all possible someone gave him a treat that didn't agree with him, you really need to lay down the law with anyone who has access to him -- especially if you will be out of town. It's hard to get people to understand that pets, especially small ones, can't tolerate lots of people foods. Even a food that isn't listed as dangerous to pets can cause some serious digestive upset. Hope Maxi continues to do well at home! |

Needless to say, I am going to write my congressman and the city officials in charge of this project a nasty letter, although I doubt they will do anything about it. Now that I know, I wont let him play by the trees anymore and I plan on covering the soil from the tree in front of my house with bricks or something similar.
