| Vomiting, no other sx's My husband opened Veruca's crate this morning to find she had vomited sometime overnight (the sticky stain was on her bed). She also vomited bile (3x's about a quarter sized amount) one full week ago. She has had no diarrhea, lethargy, or other sx. Her eyes are clear, she is barking, playing with her toys, and her stomach is not painful to palpation. She is eating and drinking normally. Last week I called the vet and they told me to watch her to make sure she drank water and to give her a dose of an anti-emetic that they previously prescribed (when she ate part of a flip flop!) I did that and she was fine. But now she vomited again. Am I over-reacting? Do other yorkies randomly throw up and act completely normal. I truly do not think she ate any foreign objects this time, but I am concerned about her. My husband and I both have colds (without vomiting) and I gave her the last teaspoon of chicken broth from my bowl last night at 5pm. Could it have made her vomit sometime after 2am? Thanks for the advice. |

| Could have been your chicken broth. Regular broth is very salty for these pups. When she vomited bile a week ago, what time of day was it?

| Why don't you try to leave a little dry kibble in her crate at night just in case she gets hungry. The throwing up might be due to an empty stomach that is upset because of that...empty. |

| ^^I agree, if it was yellow bile in the morning, could just be hunger. My younger boy requires a few kibble in his tummy before bedtime so that he won't throw up in the morning. We do a little trick training before bed, or some grooming, and I give him 4-5 pieces as a reward.

| Veruca is having surgery I took Veruca back to the vet today because she vomited bile again this morning and they x-rayed her. It turns out that 1 of 3 pieces of flip flop she ate 3 weeks ago has not passed through her and is partially obstructing her GI tract (in the stomach). So they're keeping her overnight on fluids and tomorrow she is having surgery to remove the flip flop. I am a nervous wreck and super distraught since Veruca is scared of the vet and shakes when I bring her to the office. The surgeon is calling me in the morning, are there any specific questions that I should ask him? I am a dog surgery novice (other than her spay). Thanks for any advice. |

| Have you noticed any difference in the dogs eyes? Are they glassy or a light cloudy? |

| I just came back from the vet. Ozzie's 7 months old, and yesterday he vomited a clear mucus like substance and he was very lethargic. Then later in the morning he pick up, went for a long walk, played, ate & seemed normal. Bowel movement was normal & fluid intake. This morning he repeated yesterday, but vomited 3x and seemed to be in some discomfort. He was diagnosed with Lyme and Anaplasmosis, and dehydrated, with a low grade fever. Has anyone had a dog with both? And what should I expect? |

| I happened across this thread and saw no one had answered your post. I don't have any answers for you but just wanted to say I hope little Ozzie is feeling better and that you are less worried. And I hope somebody with some knowledge answers soon. If not, you might try opening a new thread with any questions or concerns you have. This is an old thread and probably gets less traffic. |
