She is acting like herself again now playing and jumping up on everything again and just being her lovable cute self . She's a daddy's girl and loves the weekends when my husband is home.

These little ones can scare us half to death sometimes. I am so glad your little one is okay now. Your actions make all the difference and you did your best and the outcome was great, sometimes we do all we can and still we lose them and I am so glad yours is a story with a great ending. Bloody vomit and blood instead of stools. Treatment was similar, too. IV's and meds saved him when I thought our boy was gone. He had a VERY sensitive stomach for YEARS, and while he can eat regular foods now, we still avoid wheat. He ate sensitive diet formulation for several months. Then for quite some time (several more months) I cooked rice and venison for him to eat, but when his stomach was very sensitive, even that mixture had to be pureed and he could only have about a teaspoon at a time. Our saving grace was generic Pepcid (at $4.00 from WalMart). He took a scant 1/4 a tablet once a day. Eventually his digestive system became much more normal, but we are still careful what he eats, even though it's been years since his last setback. His treats are frozen pumpkin puree, but only when he is healthy.

I here you loud and clear and so identify. Chad still can't eat puree anything but when he is physically larger maybe that will be a good idea. I like the pepcid idea too. Chad has a swallowing disorder that will never go away. If he burps, then his food may become aspirated because his one of the sets of swallowing muscles do not function correctly and it is difficult to ensure that what he eats gets down and not in the way for him to breathe. On a barium study, he was given a/d and it took over 20 minutes for 1 bite to be completely swallowed. He is just a little over 2 months old. I said 15 weeks in a chat but must had a senior moment. We are hoping that by the time he is 6 months, He will be able to manage 4 small meals a day. I have tried every type of canned dog food available, pureed it more, change the consistency and even did a mix with a/d and nothing goes down as well as a/d and that is under guarded circumstances. He must be held upright even more exaggerated than what the bailey chair method requires and kept very quiet (not moving). We get his to chew at a chicken jerky treat that he can barely get any bits off of and that keeps him upright, quiet, and engages the swallowing reflex longer. I don't know why it works but it is the only reason he is alive beside the Z pack to rid him of pneumonia he had for the first 8 weeks of his life. It seems we share a lot in common. We love and will do what is needed for our little yorkies. Thanks so much for sharing. You never know when something you have gone through might be a "light bulb" idea for another.
