Help Chloe's in the Hospital She was fine today until about 3 hours ago when she started vomiting. She sent the day in my studio with me and the other pups gated in their area which is a 10 x 10 space. The only things in their are her toys, food, water, beds, and pee pads. This evening I heard her vomit and went to clean it up and it was very smelly so I thought maybe she ate poop because I just cleaned up a tiny piece and thought their should be more, 15 minutes later she vomited it again, and again and again and didn't stop. I know she didn't get into anything and this morning she had steamed chicken and her kibble and a baby carrot. I called my husband at work he works the afternoon shift and I have a visual disability so I'm unable to drive to hurry and get someone in to take his place and come so we to take her to the ER VET. By the time he came home she had vomited very hard over 20 times and now their was blood in the vomit I crying as I write this I'm so scared for her. We took her to the after hours place my vet recommends. They took her temp and she had none but shot out bloody diarrhea all over when he pulled it out. They did blood work and x-rays and came back in to tell me she was really sick, her stomach and intestines were inflamed and she had more bloody diarrhea while they were taking the test and more vomiting. The blood work they their was no infection but the she was severely dehydrated sometime about about normal was in the 20's and she was in the 60's and 65 was critical. They started an IV and and going to give her some medications and they kept her:(. He couldn't figure out what's going on with the tests he took and hopes it isn't anything the other can get. Please say a prayer for my baby. Has anyone had their dog go down so quickly like this when they were fine a few hours before? He said they could do test for pancreas, and liver when the get her to stop vomiting. She's was only 5.5 lbs so he said she could go down fast. |
I hope everything will be okay. Chloe, we are praying for you.....get better little one and stop scaring your mommy. Please keep us update on Chloe's condition. |
Oh bless your heart, I am praying for her! I have no idea what it could be, I don't have experience with any of that. But poor baby it just sounds terrible. I pray she is healed quickly and they can figure out what is wrong. |
I will be keeping Chloe in my prayers. Please keep us updated. |

one of my shih tuz did that, the vet gave him a shot and iv.... he was fine the next day. So there is hope... hang in there and all our thoughts are with you. |
Aww. :( Very possibly pancreatitis. I hope she starts recovering. PMing you. |
I am praying for you and your sweet baby Chloe. So sorry |
Did they rule out HGE? A Packed Cell Volume (PCV) over 70 is it. I'd call to be sure they ran this test... sudden onset of vomiting and diarrhea... and yes... bloody and stinky http://vetmedicine.about.com/cs/dogd.../HGEindogs.htm |
I'm so sorry littlel Chloe is so sick. I'm sending prayers that she will be well soon. |
I will keep her in my prayers. Cali had something similar and it was HGE. The PCV test confirmed it. She was pretty sick for 5 days. I would take her to my vet during the day to be given IV fluids and take her home at night. Please keep us posted. |
I am so sorry that Chloe is so sick. I hope her stomach settles down very quickly and that she heals from whatever is making her ill. I know how heartbroken and helpless you are feeling, but she should respond nicely with the fluids and the medical care that she is receiving. You and your baby are in my thoughts and prayers. |
