| got a message from a specialist Now what do I do, I am completely at the end of my wisdom.... Rob Foale, a very well known vet in the UK suggested that I might want to do further testing. The reason for this is that Ozzie had a nose blead (which now stopped) a few weeks ago. Ozzies nose still does not look normal, some strange stuff at the outside (dont know what), and I should tell my vet to refer him. Don't really know. He thinks there might be more behind this. I do trust Rob, he helped a a lot with my other dog. How do I tell my vet that I want a referal and not to upset them? So worried still. Ozzie is my pup, we got 3 dogs ( Ozzie is mine, Merlin is Chris's (dogs are both Yorkies) and Snoopy (you my guess a Beagle) is both. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks a million XX |

| Went to vets today to get referral, they gave it quite happily, it almost sounded that they were not sure either about Ozzie, no signs, found by fluke and bloated tummy and dry nose. I will keep you posted. As most are you in the US (me in UK) you might not have heard of Dick Whites referral in the UK but it seems a pretty switched on place with the consultant Ozzie is having, getting a lot of knowledge and skills from the US. Thanks to you all, god bless you! |

| Hi Ladyjane, thanks very much for asking. Had to leave him at the specialist overnight, as time to pick him up would have been to late (after all the tests being done). This gets stranger and stranger, his CPL was normal!! Rob thinks that it is not pancreatitis (to 90% anyway). His ALP is 4x the ref range, but he is not too concerned about that either, not diabetic, no increased white blood cells, ultrasound OK, pancrea enlarged, liver not symetrical (but normal range), Abdominal is high...(exactly what I have not written down whilst talking to him). He expects it might cushings disease. But lab results will not be back till Monday. Rob is puzzled as well, specially that Ozzie had a nose bleed and a bloated tummy at most times. Funny thing is, he asked on what Ozzie is on, I said, I switched to the Low Fat food (which you can only buy at the vets) and I fed him Chappie before. He said Chappie would do the trick and the vet just said to switch as they earn money out of it. I just have to got to wait now till Monday/Tuesday when the lab results are in. The referrals clinic is really good, so I do trust them a lot. If you would like to have a look at their web-site, its Dick White Referrals | Centre of Veterinary Excellence and I think you would agree with me, as they are only working with specialists. Glad I am insured, would have cost me £800! But even without insurance I would have done it, as my dogs are my babies!! Thanks again! |
