Max is Limping - Seizure Related?

I'm so happy baby Max is feeling better and not limping- I bet it was just from being a puppy and playing with his big brother. So glad he is feeling and doing better- you are always in my thoughts and prayers

His phenobarbital levels came back and once again they are extremely low. It should be between 15-45 and it is 10.8. This would be why in the past few days his seizures are reoccurring. It's shocking because we just doubled his dosage 2 1/2 weeks ago! However, he was about 2 pounds lighter then.

Come and share anytime...everyone here understands. Glad to hear he still isn't limping. I'm sure you will get his meds right...he is just growing so fast right now. You are such a good yorkie mom .... Max (and Coop) are both so lucky to have you.

I'm glad to hear that Max is back to his normal self It makes sense that since he is growing so fast that his dosage should change. I'll keep my fingers crossed that he is perfectly healthy from now on!

He's been on his meds for 1 month and this is the 3rd dosage! He's a big boy.

Me too. He jumped up on me when I came home from the post office today. For 10 minutes after that, he limped around slightly. He must have pulled something. I'm almost positive now that it's not neurological. Thank goodness.

I've just found and read this whole thread. I feel for you. I think he must have just a slight injury and I hope he recovers from it soon. I understand how worrying it must be. Take care and just wanted you to know I'm thinking of you and Max. I'll be watching for any updates.

Thanks guys. I think part of the problem is that because Max is 7 pounds already, I think of him as a "big" yorkie. I have to realize his bones and body are still very fragile because he's so young. He's not an equal match to Cooper's strength, although he certainly can hold his own. I really have to start monitoring their play a lot more.

I am just seeing this thread! I don't know how I missed it. When I saw the title, I panicked! I quickly read through the posts and am so relieved Max is doing better. I bet he just pulled a muscle. I will keep the little fella in my prayers. Keep posting his progress.

Thanks - sorry to scare you. I was very scared when I wrote the thread. I think that because he has neurological problems that I, and even my vets are very concerned about any little thing that happens to him.
