| Update I just got home a little while ago from spending almost 45 minutes with Miko. He is doing better but he's not eating, so he may not be able to come home tomorrow. =( They want him to eat and have a normal bowel movement before they release him. I even tried feeding him and he just won't eat. They will call me in the morning again to let me know how he's doing. If they don't let him come home I will atleast get to visit him again. I've attached pics of our visit today. Thanks everyone for all the thoughts and prayers. |

| My baby is home Thanks everyone, we are home now. He is asleep on the sofa next to me, still a little drugged up, they gave him a pain pill this morning, they said he should be perked up by 8p tonight. His diarrhea still has not cleared up completely, but it's not bloody anymore so they are letting him come home in the hopes that bring home in his normal surroundings will help him get better. He ate a little boiled chicken at the clinic this morning of course he can't just live off of that, nit enough nutrients. I'm hoping he'll eat his good this evening since he's home now. However if his diarrhea doesn't clear up by Tuesday I have to take him back. We also have to go back the week of the 6th so they can draw more blood and check his levels when he is better to try and determine if there are underlying causes for his HGE. His official diagnosis is severe HGE with probable PLE. When he goes back for bloodwork, if his levels are still low they will want to do a biopsy of his GI tract. They sent him home with a few medications: probiotic, antibiotic, H2-blocker/antacid and anti-nausea. I am so happy to have him home and hoping that being at home will speed up his recovery. Thank you everyone for all your support during this time. (((HUGS))) Last edited by crb; 08-28-2010 at 08:43 AM. |

| Aww Cynthia I'm so happy you got to bring him home. I'm a firm believer that after the vets do what they can - that our love is what will finish the healing. I hope he continues to feel better these next few days. Big hugs to you and Miko.
