Gentle hugs for Daisy & I will keep both of you in my thoughts for only a positive outcome...Daisy coming home to you healthy & happy ASAP! ;) |
Keeping Daisy in our prayers. I'm glad the specialist is doing the u/s. In addition to Lyme possibly causing this, there are any # of things that could cause these elevations including bacterial infections as these enzymes are very sensitive. I hope she is comfy over the weekend and that we learn more from you soon about how she is doing. THe xray would rule out a mass but not necessarily other things that an u/s can detect. Keep us posted. Hugs, Cathy |
Praying Daisy will start to feel better and her numbers go back to normal. I know when they are sick it's impossible not to worry. |
I just talked to the vet and she said that when she did the xray of Daisy's liver it was not swollen. She also said that they had her on plenty of fluids and she was alert and has not thrown up again and seemed like she was doing a little better. She said that they are treating her as if she did get into something, I guess Daisy's glucose was fine no fever. Tomorrow they are going to offer her food and if she keeps it down they are going to do her lvls again. If her lvls drop some than they are thinking that Maybe it could be a RARE side effect from the medication. If her lvls don't drop than we have to go ahead with a specialist doing an ultra sound. Please pray for a miracle for Daisy and that her lvls drop some tom. I am calling around 8:00 am. Pixie and I are missing her so much, I also asked the vet that if she did by chance eat a mushroom in the yard wouldn't she show signs of it before thurs, Bc the only day she could of ate something in the yard was monday. The vet said that not all mushrooms are toxic in the yard and if she did eat a toxic one it could take anywhere from 24-72 hrs. I am banging my head against the wall and I can't figure it out. I really have a gut feeling it is her doxycycline I don't know why. I hope that is it. Please being praying for her. |
Bless her heart! I will keep Daisy in my prayers. I know the waiting is hard. Just keep your faith and trust that all will be OK. |
You are both in my thoughts. Do not go beating yourself up. I am hoping and betting she will be better tomorrow. Sometimes, they just get sick. |
I'm so sorry your both going thru such a bad time right now. Prayers are going out to you both. Hopefully she will be home soon and back to her little self! |

1 Attachment(s) I am missing her so much right now. I hope it is something that they can do something about. I miss how when I always go get a glass of ice water and set it down she sticks her face in there and nearly drinks half the glass, it's as if she says thanks for the water. It doesn't matter if I had just finished filling her bowl with cold water she still loves to steal moms water. I miss this sweet face:( we took this picture yesterday after the groomers. I found it strange that at the groomers she was acting nervous and she loves the groomers. I feel awful that I didn't know, and put her through a haircut:( She does look so cute though:) |
My thoughts and prayers are with you both :rose: Im so sorry she is so sick :( |
Prayers for you and Pixie (and Daisy, too). |
Daisy is positively adorable! What a beautiful face. I'm praying for you both. You have been through more than one should in a lifetime this week. I wish you continued strength and I hope you can bring your sweety home tomorrow. |

Tylosin Did you get a hold of a pharmacist yet and ask about doseage and ask about side effects and if it affects the liver enzymes that antibiotic? ETA- were you giving mid meal? |
Bless your heart. When it rains it pours. I will be praying for Daisy and you too. |
Doxycycline (Vibramycin®) that antibiotic is used off label as not fda approved in dogs. It also affects proteins so could very well be the cause of the liver issue going on if given too high of a dose |
