And how long has this diet worked for her?

When they fill with gas and it can't escape, you can run into more issues. Sigh. I'd make sure to keep up with the drugs.

Yes, she had bi-lateral LP surgery. Then a re-surgery to fix her right leg. 6 months later she was suppose to have re-surgery to fix her left leg, but she had a staph that wouldn't go away, and then we found out she most likely has MVD, so we put it off. She had really had no issues, until now.

The limping is throwing me, but it sounds intestinal to me. It sounds like she is filing with gas and then feels better after gas relief is given. The question is why? I think if it continues, you may need to see a specialist who can figure it out b/c being gassy and bloated is not at all healthy and I would just hope it doesn't turn into something more serious.

Has she been diagnosed with IBD? No, right?

Really, I am going to go and read about that...ok...so I will not do Metcamp, I had no idea they said that.

The limping is throwing me off too, and I can't tell which leg, she is just walking odd right now. Better though, as before she was stiff and arched and you knew 100% something was wrong.

No IBD dx. I never really had an issue with her. If its gas, I will need to find out why and from what that's for sure...

Yes, a bunch of gas on the xrays. I do hear faint squishes in her tummy from time to time.

I have been giving this diet for almost two years now. I am going to look up each ingredient and see if anything looks off.

if two years then doubt that is causing it - could be stress from leg hurting her and you being gone or how about DH lol as i know mine i have to constantly be on him as he jacked up dd meds when i was gone out of town on business and i even gave him a CHECKLIST lol. Men and FOOD sometimes do not mix lol. Maybe he put a little too much cheese on or something like that.

I know Brooklyn was saying some people have had complications after the LP surgeries so you may want to have that checked out

Well C knows how I feel about NSAIDS and liver disease lol totally against it and dogs with stomach issues like ibd our vet said it is not recommended either.

She is fina again. No limping, no wobble, no nothing. Back to her neurotic Roxy self.

The only weird thing is lastnight and this morning, she didn't want to eat all her food. I made a 'new' batch lastnight, so maybe something was tasting off to her. Tonight I am gonna try her food plain with no supplements and see if she eats it all. If so, maybe I just made her batch a little off tasting to her.

Not sure what to think, I guess I just have to go day by day

yep that is what i do day by day with dd - stinks having a unhealthy one huh

could be the smell and could be her tummy does not feel good. I never force them to eat if not feeling well as dex will tell me LOUD and clear when he wants his food. DD is a little piggy and demi well she is a princess what can I say lol

I'm having a similar problem with my 3 year old "zeppelin" I have been looking everywhere trying to find some answers. 3 months ago he had a very severe case of pancreatitis involving exploratory surgery, removal of pancreatic abscesses, and a week in the hospital. He was put on iams low residue and seemed to make a full recovery except for being hungry all the time!! Out of nowhere he started to act funny...lethargic and just not himself. I took him out for a walk and while barking at another dog he started to cry out in pain. We held off for a little bit just to observe him and he would whimper when we would pick him up and he had a hard abdomen. Rushed him to the vet and they put him on IV and antibiotics. He had high lipase and white blood cell so they did a PLI and it came back negative for pancreatitis? I was happy at first, but then I realized that there may be something else going on. Anyhow, he seemed to make another full recovery from whatever it was. We came home and the vet thought that it may be his food. We slowly switched to HIlls W/D (allergen free) and he seemed to be doing fine. It's now 2 weeks later and he started to act funny again. I took him outside and while barking at another dog he started to cry out in pain. Again we took him to the vet quickly (because of his history, i dont think twice about a gut instinct) and he gave us some pain killers and antibiotics. He now thinks it could be adhesions from the surgery? I just have this horrible feeling that it's something very major and i dont feel like the vets are taking it seriously/acting fast enough. Does anyone recognize these symptoms?

Oh boy! IDK - it could be an adhesion from surgery, but why is not all the time??? Can you get a second opinion?

For Roxy the Sucralfate and Famotidine helped her with the Gas Pains and tummy upset.
