| ![]() If she can't get any answers tonight (God forbid), then on ortho can be called in the morning. ER clinics can be funny things and some vets do not have enough ER experience to be working there... Vets with less experience can be paid less and that's all I'm gonna say... ![]() I'm sorry Patti.

| ![]() Patti, sending prayers that you can find out it is something that can be fixed. It doesn't sound neurological to me. Something was wrong or gave out or perhaps she hurt herself when no one was around. Thinking of you...

| ![]() Whatever it is, at least Patti is trying to help her dog. She is smart to be back at the vet clinic to get an answer. I can't stand seeing a dog in pain. I hope Pixie is okay, we are sending good thoughts her way.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | ![]() Oh Pixie and Patti ![]() The panting and licking of lips is likely from pain, she may also feel nauseous from pain - and they may lick their lips from that as well. Since she is LP4, it makes me suspect the knee is injured and itsLP related -or- the instability of the knee caused her to compensate - and she did something funky, and injured something above or below the knee when the knee was "popping" or gave out a little. Lots of love coming your way! Be strong Pixie and please get well very soon!

| ![]() Patti just called. She asked for a new vet and got one who has been very thorough and answering any questions. It is her left knee that is out and won't go back in because of inflammation. He said the Hip and ALC felt okay, but the Xray could tell more. He will read the XRay and also leave it for the guys to read in the morning. Patti is very impressed with him. He told her she should see her ortho and that this doesn't necessarily mean surgery...that when the inflammation goes away, it could pop back in on it's own. Patti will most likely start a thread in Sick/emergency when she returns home. She thanks all of you for your help, concern and prayers. Poor little Pixie.

| ![]() Poor baby Pixie. I know Patti is so upset.. So so sorry Patti. I didnt know that Bella had an unstable patella. She was very excited one day and was bouncing up and down on her back legs. She came down and it lux'd she was in so much pain. I took her right away and they xray'd and gave metacam and i had to crate her for 6 weeks. she has a slight lp and strenghten it by walking up hill which the vet said would strenghten the structures around her knee to keep it from luxating. so far so good! she used to favor it when she runs..but not now. I will be praying for you guys Patti |

| ![]() Oh Patti dear friend i'm just now seeing this dear. i hope Pixi is ok! Sadie was diagnosed with LP and like you i had to have a second opinioin because the first one just wanted to go into xrays without knowing what it was. we went to Shoal creek, which i would later in life work for hte owner of ![]() here's the link for V.O.M. if surgery isn't going to be an option for you, financially or because it's only a grade 1-3 try this method of healing instead. surgery is our last option and thankfully for us, ours is a grade 2 upper. and we don't need surgery and VOM is working for Sadie. here's the link: Practitioners In Your Area praying for you and Pixi tonight. |

| ![]() Praying for little Pixie. Hoping the inflammation will reduce quickly and she will feel much better soon. I have the human type of luxating patella, since age 9 years of age it was diagnosed. I had ALOT of problems with my legs collapsing as a child and as an adult. And had surgery when I was 10 years old, which was supposed to be 99.9% corrective. Did not work! Failed! I know for me, this can be very painful when ever the knee is "out". And when it gets stuck.... just as little Pixie is experiencing.... there are really no words I can find to describe how bad this feels (pain). I will keep little Pixie in my prayers. |
