Something happened to Pixie..Patti is so scared

Is there another emergency vet in your area?

Patti is calling the clinic again to tell them she is bringing Pixie back for an X-ray. She said that Pixie's left leg is very strange...as if it's not in the socket, but not at the knee, but seems to be in the hip area. It is very limp. Why did they not do something when she first went to the clinic. They did put a bow in Pixie's hair. The lease of Patti's worries that Pixie have a bow in her hair.

Any thoughts? Kellie..are you here? What do you think?

i dont' know either. but grade 4 LP usually requires surgery to fix i believe.

do you think it's because of the LP causing her to be in pain? sounds like a big possibility to me if you say the knees are out of socket.

I was going to ask Patti that and with all the talking, never got it in. My guess is there isn't one very near or she would be going there.

I hope you can get some better answers from a vet soon, I know what it feels like not to have much faith in the vet that is giving the treatment. I hope it isn't to serious! hugs.

Funny thing is, Pixie hasn't had LP in the past. Now Patti is thinking it's more in the hip area.

Patti i'm sorry you got stuck with the new guy er vet. its very frustrating, i know.

LP and a torn cruciate can both occur from trauma, so if she was playing rough, or jumping on or off something she could have tweaked it just the right way to cause a problem. An x-ray will show a luxated patella and sometimes you can determine a cruciate tear as well by the angle the femur and tibia create.

i'd want more answers and ask to see another er vet. usually there is more than one on duty at an emergency hospital

I don't get how they missed that, doesn't make sense. And they should have just x-rayed it at the time. And the bow, that is the topper. Poor Patti, sure hope everything is ok.

she could have luxated a hip from trauma too. an x-ray is definitely in order and i'm glad she's calling the clinic again

this poor baby. if she can make it through the night comfortably I'd take her to an orthopaedic surgeon first thing in the morning. sending healing thoughts and I hope you get an answer soon.

Patti's just got back to the ER Clinic. She left her phone plugged in in the car because it's low battery, but will come out and call me when they're doing the x-ray. Patti says she feels a little better because she at first thought it seemed neurological and now she doesn't think so. Not that the other possibilities are good, but neurological is scary and meds wouldn't do much for that, where now Pixie is no longer panting.

I hope its nothing too serious and Pixie will be ok. I have to go out for a little while but can read PMs on my phone. i'll check back later
