| Bentley has Demodex! EWWW Well i took him in today with me to work because i found something crusty and gross on his back and as i'm telling the techs that i found it and wanted them to look at him one comes around the corner and says I KNOW WHY...his fecal came positive for Demodex mange/mites. YUCKY. so now he's on promeris for every two weeks and then a skin scrap to recheck in 8 weeks. luckily it's not contagious to Sadie unless her immune system drops really low but she's in great health. pray for Bentley tho, i want his poor skin to heal up and all the dermatitis and mange to go away and heal. |

| Awww, poor baby. I know it's pink, but try putting Sadie's collar on him if he starts to itch himself.

| Ok i know this isn't at all it's purpose, but i've actually found a nice little use for that collar for him i have to put tritop on his tummy and package and also he sometimes tries to mark so i've actually been using it as a make shift belly band since it's washable and absorbant (with the help of a maxi pad) until my order gets here of actually belly bands. i know that's not it's purpose, but it's working for right now...so maybe you can market it's dual usage |

| There was a little chi at the vets one day that had mange and they gave her some sulphur dip. Perhaps you could get something like that to dab on the spot to help it go away faster?

| that is what i thought too lol but thought maybe something i did not know as i have never dealt with demodex in mine nor scabies but derm did scraping on dd last time to rule out demodex since she has so many skin issues just to be safe as a follow up since she has a poor immune system. |

| Sorry to hear about your dog. I've been battling Demodex for almost two years. Guppy has been on daily Interceptor for about a year now. I took him to the Animal Hospital at the University of Florida when I couldn't get it under control. We tried the Promeris once, but it made him vomit repeatedly. We're going to try it again in a month or two. Hopefully, you'll have better luck. Please keep us informed so I know if it worked for you. I'd hate to put Guppy through dosing it again if it's not going to work. The funny thing is Guppy has been thoroughly checked out and there is no sign his immune system is compromised at all. All his tests came back perfect and except for the Demodex he's very healthy and happy. I've been advised NOT to do the Sulphur dips so would like more info on them if anyone has that. Good luck to you! |
