| It just never ceases to amaze me how horrible people can be to God's innocent creatures All that I can think of is that it is contagious to humans so hopefully however let him get into that condition has caught the ringworm too. Be careful so that you do not spread it to your own family and pups. It's hard to get rid of since it can be passed back and forth very easily. I'm so happy that he is now safe and in your care. Thank you for fostering and helping to bring him safely into your care.

| OMG I am near tears! That poor baby! And he's only 1.5 so he must have endured this for most of his life! He must not know what it feels like to be loved. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | That poor baby. I am so happy he is coming to you to get better. Does he need to wear a cone? If so Mom to Hot Rod sells these great fabric ones and they are so much more comfortable for them. If he does need one I would like to buy one for him. No living creature should suffer like that. Just pm me. Bless you.

| Bless his little tiny heart and your great big one! How wonderful of you to take this little guy in and nurse him back to health. I hope he'll heal very quickly and that you won't have any ringworm at your house. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | It is so good of you to take him in. He looks so pitiful I can honestly say i probably wouldn't do the same. Ringworm is very contagious so you need to be extremely careful while handling him. wear gloves and an apron or smock when you have to touch him. if your going to be keeping him in a separate room make sure you wear the same shoes in and be sure to take them off before you leave the room. you don't want to drag that stuff throughout the house. i'd just be so worried about contracting ringworm myself or giving it to my other dogs/cats/family members. I was such a freak about those things when working as a tech. i always wore gloves and a disposable surgical gown. when i was finished handling the pet i would literally scrub my hands and arms with hot water and disinfectant for 5 minutes. Then when i got home at the end of the day i'd strip just inside the door, put all my stuff in a plastic bag and take it directly to the washer. Hot water wash. Then into the shower for me. i would do all that before even saying hi to my pets. of course i'd also be itchy the rest of the day just thinking about it. i was so paranoid. good luck with him, and please be very careful.

| Oh God love'em. He's in such a horrible condition, I can't even fathom the anguish this little one has been through. How in the h--ll could someone let this happen, sorry....I'm just so mad and want to scream at the same time!! I'm sobbing thinking what he has been put through and had to endure in his little life. Sending prayers to Chance and asking that he has a quick recovery. You are such a very special person. THANK YOU for saving this little guy!!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | We had a guinea pig with ringworm and I caught it. I didn't realize he had it at first. I had to take him in every few weeks, if I remember correctly, for some kind of sulphur bath. He was a white long haired peruvian GP with real long hair. When I picked him up after each bath he was yellow. He also had some oral medications. We were able to clear it up in about 2 months and the hair all grew back. Mine cleared up pretty quick with the medicine the dermatologist gave me. I can't believe someone would let him get so horribly bad.

Is it that common? I had never even heard of dogs getting it before. I've never even seen it on a person.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | working as a vet tech and an animal shelter volunteer i would come across ringworm and other funky skin conditions that would just get me all paranoid about catching it. i guess its not all that common to people who don't work in the field. i've never actually gotten ringworm (knock on wood) even though i've been exposed to it numerous times without knowing at first. some people are immune to it and hopefully i'm one of them. i have seen other tech's get it and it causes hair to fall out and a red itchy spot show up. sometimes it can just be covered up with a bandaid if its small enough but when its big its a total pain in the butt.

He probably did have it from a puppy from his mother. I will bet he was from a pet shop/mill................

| OMG that poor baby. I wish we could put all these horrible people in jail for this. Or maybe they should have to live like they make these sweet babies live. They will get theirs one day. Karma is a B----. This just makes me so mad.
