working as a vet tech and an animal shelter volunteer i would come across ringworm and other funky skin conditions that would just get me all paranoid about catching it. i guess its not all that common to people who don't work in the field. i've never actually gotten ringworm (knock on wood) even though i've been exposed to it numerous times without knowing at first. some people are immune to it and hopefully i'm one of them. i have seen other tech's get it and it causes hair to fall out and a red itchy spot show up. sometimes it can just be covered up with a bandaid if its small enough but when its big its a total pain in the butt.
