| Khoda is sick and I need help... hey everyone.. well i just joined this because i was trying to find out what is wrong with my dog and this site popped up. I read over another thread about a dog vomitting alot, and it sounds alot like my dog, but not quite, Ive read all teh suggestions given to that dog owner, but the illnesses listed there dont completely match. Here is what is going on.. everyday (almost) Khoda (almost 3 years old) sits by the door to go outside in the morning and starts contracting like she is going to throw up, when she finally does, it is yellow like bile and foamy. she throws up about 3 times within about 5 minutes. and then goes on with the day normally. She eats later in the day so its not food causing her to throw up, and no food comes out when she does throw up, it is just the yellow foamy stuff. She can go a couple weeks without getting sick, but then all of a sudden she has spells that last a couple weeks where she gets sick every morning. I want to take her to the vet but they said they would want to keep her for a few days, and right now i just don't have the money for that, so if i can find out whats wrong with her on here, it would help me out ALOT! Thanks so much for you help..... |

| Welcome to YT. Are you sure it isn't an empty stomach? Do you feed her "right" before bed? If it isn't, she probably will need to be seen, but there is absolutely no reason why they would need to automatically think about keeping her for a few days. What food is she on? It doesn't happen to be Nutro???

| hello thank you for the welcome... i dont think its empty stomach. i put food in her bowl every morning (always have) and she doesnt eat it right away, but she munches throughout the afternoon, and by the time i get up in the morning, her bowl is empty... sometimes i refill her bowl about 4pm cause shes already eaten it in the early afternoon... but she never eats in the morning... just afternoon and night. she eats "Chicken Soup for the Dog Loevers Soul" food.. adult dog food.. i had her on puppy until probably January, and then switched her... but she did this even when I was feeding her "Puppy wellness" also... |

If she is heaving (which it sounds like she is), then it's probably time for bloodwork.

Vomiting or Regurgitation? - VeterinaryPartner.com - a VIN company! I'd say if you really can't afford the vet right now, you could try switching foods to see what happens, but it sounds like that had been done already. One more question, has she ever had problems with her anal glands?

| just clicked on your link... i think its more of a vomit than regurgitation... because her whole stomach area gets smaller and bigger, kind of like shes doing a sit up, but standing up on four legs.... but similar motion |

| She probably needs to be checked out to see what's causing the problem. It could be acid, and you won't know why without a checkup, but you could try 1/4 tablet of pepcid. It might help, and my veterinarian has given my yorkie injections of it and has told me to give it to her when her stomach is upset. It shouldn't hurt her, but it also won't get to the root of the problem, either. |

| Certainly hope that it turns out to just be a simple problem with a simple solution. I have one that vomits yellow bile when he's been fed too early in the evening. Good luck. ~Joanne~
