| I am so sorry but I think I would certainly get a second opinion before making such a crucial decision. I wish you good luck. What tests were done to determine this outcome? |

| Sorry your baby has kidney failure, mine was diagnosed at 10y and lived to almost 14y. She was on k/d diet and low protein treats. Her BUN and creatin levels we always elevated, but she did good and had a normal life.

| How long has she been ill? This just suddenly started? No warning signs or anything?

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would get a second opinion or try getting her to a kidney specialist. They can do a lot for kidney failure these days. Good luck!

| Any regular practice vet should be able to handle the treatment of renal failure. I would make an appointment with another vet for a second opinion since time is off the essence (it does not sound like this is something that can wait) .... internal med specialist is good, but honestly I don't know how a regular vet could not handle this. Of course that all depends on how severe this is. That temperature is worrisome. I am wondering what else is going on. Too many things we don't know here.

| UPDATE: I spoke to vet.. her temp was 95... BUN was over 130 and Creatine was 4.4....vet says she is at the very end of kidney failure.. 2nd opinion or the unthinkable...

| My Peppy was in kidney failure for years...when his levels got that severe he was given fluids to flush the kindeys...it really worked to lower those numbers......he also was on azodyl a probioitc that my regular vet has seen great success with this medication... One time he had to stay over night for fluids, but all the other times I gave him the fluids at home under his skin..... I would get another opinion or at least speak to your vet about fluids to see if they help....

| i would get to an internal medicine specialist ASAP as normal creatinine is .9 so that is high and internal medicine specialist specializes in internal organs so i would want them handling my case on something serious |
