My Peppy was in kidney failure for years...when his levels got that severe he was given fluids to flush the kindeys...it really worked to lower those numbers......he also was on azodyl a probioitc that my regular vet has seen great success with this medication...
One time he had to stay over night for fluids, but all the other times I gave him the fluids at home under his skin..... I would get another opinion or at least speak to your vet about fluids to see if they help....
