| Collapse of My Yorkie Help!! My yorkie collapsed and stopped breathing about a week ago. My husband administered CPR and was able to get him breathing again. We took off to the emergency vet, and he stopped breathing three times on the way to the vet. He displayed difficulty in breathing, as well as drawing up his paw, and unresponsive. When we pulled up into the vet drive--he came out of it. All test came back negative. One week latter he was going outside; became disoriented, and collapsed. This time he did not stop breathing, but he was disoriented for a time. That night he awakened; yelped and became ridged. He wet on himself, and came around quickly. He seems fine now. Again vet said no clue---maybe epilepsy, seizure disorder, or heart. |

| I'm so sorry your little one is having these episodes. I don't have any advice, but I am wishing your guy the best. What did your vet recommend -- more tests or wait and see? |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome! My pom had an episode like that a couple of years ago and we thought she was dead then she yelped, fell over and was stiff then she started to come to and I took her to the er vet and they said she had a grand mal seizure and it may be a one time only thing but if it happened again then further testing would be done. I would have the vet check him out again.

| Possible Epilepsy Hi, I am brand new to yorkie talk. I have an eight year old tiny or tea cup yorkie name Bruno. Bruno has had seizures since he was six months. I have been to almost every specialist. the final diagnosis was Epilepsy. He is currently on Phenobarytal at 2.5 ml twice a day. he has never stopped breathing; however, a precursor to the the seizure is losing bladder control. he then goes rigid; and begins the seizure while maintaining the rigidness. If you have an further questions, please let me know.....I was given many diagnoses, some very grave indeed. Keep your chin up; and get him diagnosised; ask for the diazaban (?) syrgines which can be injected into his hiney to help the seizure. This is prescribed the Vet and is for emergency or particularly severe seizures. |

| Einstein had liver test done and came out normal. His heart sounds strong, without any murmurs. He is this really healthy dog with a bizarre problem. Thank you to all that have responded! I am prayerful that it is an infrequent seizure disorder. He is 3.5 lbs. and 4 1/2 years old and it seems strange that this would start at this time in his life. I just needed suggestions to get the vet in the right direction. She is very good, but it never hurts to give a little help! |

| I would absolutely take this little one to a Board Certified Neurologist! I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers.
