. Ace, ketamine, torb, dex-domitor, propofol, to name a few. Rarely are there surgeries done using iso alone.

| Very nice pictures. She was adorable. You both looked so happy together. I am very sorry for your loss. I think it's responsible of you to be researching. I applaud you for turning tragedy into something that could save another dog. And I don't blame you for being angry. We can't control how we feel. We can only control how we react to those feelings. Anger is part of the healing process. Allow yourself to mourn. God bless and know that my heart aches with you. Sincerely, Sonya |

| So sorry for your loss. I totally agree with many on here. We always need to be vigilant about what the vets do. I remind mine ALWAYS of exactly what I want done. He accepts that I am a PITA, but really appreciates reminders because he has so many patients.

| No one can truly understand how special Lexie was to me. I have 3 other yorkies 5 in total but 2 were given as gifts to my brother and my sister in law. Lexie was the smartest yet smallest of them all. She was a barker and kept the house alive. Now it is so quite I cannot stand it & I miss her even more. She went everywhere with me and the others took turns with her. She was MY dog (crying). I loved her the way no one else could understand as we were connected. She was the smartest of them all as well. I love you Lexie. It doesn't matter how she died. All I know is that this will take a while for me to recover from. I try to be strong & not let it kill me inside. However that is easier said than done. I came here to just find comfort. Please understand all.

I lost my Cleo 11 years ago. The pain has lessened, but every Christmas when I pull out her stocking the tears just come gushing.....she loved Christmas. Barked her head off and ran around the tree when we were decorating it. She knew there were presents under the tree for her every year. Her ashes and her baby mouse sit on a shelf above my computer.

I think all of us can relate to how you feel - I know I'd be devestated and people DO understand. Lots of the replies to you were based on what you posted originally about the vet killing her.... so saying it doesn't matter isn't actually true. It DOES matter how this happened because of the subject line in this thread an your first post - but maybe it will help someone in the future. As many said - what happened is a tragedy and won't help how sad you feel but it's also prompted questions which may help others facing the same surgery. | |

It scares me so much to read about things like this, taking your little yorkie to have a spay , and something tragic like this occurs. My heart breaks for your loss. This is personally my worst fear. I have delayed taking my Suzi in , because I am so scared of losing her. Nobody is ever prepared to lose a dog under these circumstances. We put our complete trust in the vet and care of our sweet animals , praying that everything will go smoothly , and sometimes our babies do not pull through . PLease take all the time you need to grieve for Lexie . I feel very badly for the loss you are experiencing. My two girls are my children , I am so sorry .

| First let me tell you that I am sorry for your lose. Second yes you can take step if you feel the vet is in the wrong and you should. Get in contact with your provincial vets governing board and ask them the steps for filling a complainant against t the vet you have dealt with. They will start an investigation. Even of they find that there was nothing that vet did wrong they will make recommends to that vet so it does not happen again or help you learn why it did happen. If the vet collage in your province find against him/her, you can file a claim against his/her insurance and even ask for his/her license but make sure you are up for the fight. JL

It does get better in time, but I swear they take a chunk of your heart with you when they pass. I, too, have many pups .. and each is special in his/her own way. Those who have passed have each devastated me. I talk to mine and ask for signs that they are ok, and I have gotten signs from them. Sometimes it is in a form that only you will understand but they will send signs if you believe. To some that sounds wacky, but to those of us who have experienced it, it is real.

I hate going on my main floor of my house as all my memories of her are there. I just feel like crying forever when they come back to me.

Anyway...Christmas night I googled a topic about this latest one's death and got a link...about the fourth one down that was a mind blower. It really was not what I was searching for. It was a story that was exactly like what I had just experienced in the loss of a pup. Without going into detail, I just know that it was meant for me to read. I sent it to a friend and she called me saying how eerie it was. It really was. That was when I started to feel a little better, although I am still hurting.
