If this is liver related, the Metcamp and Steroids must be going crazy in his little body. They *may* also throw the BAT off, so don't be surprised if the number are really really skewed. I will keep you in my prayers. Please let us know how tomorrow goes ![]()

| ![]() it is with much sadness that I report that Chaunceys visit at Cornell today didnt go so well. After a neuro exam, we agreed to have an MRI done. The MRI showed a lot going on in Chaunceys brain.. none of which is good. Basically the dog is suffering from a Inflamatory brain disorder (NME). The result of the MRI was worse than we expected. The neurologist is surprised he made it this long and didnt have more severe effects. There is really no good outcome. Even with medication he may live a week to a few months. We are waiting to hear how he comes out of anestesia and will go pick him up tomorrow. This is so traumatic for me. My poor baby. I almost wish this was a liver condition that perhaps would have had a better outcome. A broken leg would have even been better. thanks for everyones support and help through this. |

![]() I do not have much insight into NME or GME - but I do recall reading a few threads here on YT about other little ones with the disease, so maybe you can search here on YT for them and get some more info and support from them. I know you love him dearly and you and your husband a good people, he knows how you care for him and he loves you right back! We are still here for you no matter what ![]()

| ![]() I hope you never have to learn about or experience these horrible brain disorders. We brought chauncey home from Cornell today, said our goodbyes and had to put him down. There was no hope.. even with medication he wasnt guaranteed to live long and would never have become his old self again. The neurologist showed my husband the images and he had about nine affected spots.. including holes in his brain. How he survived is beyond me. I am so sad but a part of me is relieved that I dont have to see him in the condition he was in and wonder if he was still going to be alive when I would get home. He declined so fast.. it was like every day he was worse. poor baby. I want to learn more about this diease.. even on google there isnt a ton. I really wonder if there is something that could have caused it... so far I havent found anything.. ok.. thanks for thinking of us. today was very hard. |

| ![]() My deepest sympathy...goodbye Chauncey, rest in peaceful sleep little man. You did everything and anything you could have possibly done for him, right up to the very end. He does know love and compassion because of you. Thank you for being there for him in his darkest moments. God, I have real tears running down my cheeks...and I didn't even get a chance to know him...
