| Are you feeding the same food the breeder did? It really is important they eat so I understand your concern.

| I am trying to feed her the same food as the breeder had her on. The breeder gave me all sorts of info on that when I brought her home and I was being very good about following that, but now feel I need to try new things to keep her strength and sugar levels up. She was eating Royal canine puppy formula #33 (she just will not eat it now). She was also eating Pedigree wet puppy food and little ceasers. She will take a couple of licks of ceasers, but that is all. The breeder also gave her boiled chicken, rice and steamed veggies (I was told sting beans were a fav)... again tried all that and no luck there either. The breeder gave me Nutrical when I brought her home in case she was not eating well (due to the more). That has been a huge help in keeping her sugar levels up. If anyone on here has the same issue as I am having (will not eat), you should look into this. I know I will now always have this at home in the event that she ever has an issue again. In the meantime, to get her through this... Sheri (the breeder) and I are going back and forth trying new things (which is very helpful as she knows what she has liked before she got sick). Hopefully the meds will kick in soon and she will get back to eating as well as she did before. I saw the posting about the breeder who would not pay for the meds and wanted to note that Sheri did say she will pay, so I am happy about that. In the meantime, my Ava is napping on my foot... she is so sweet. |

| There is a canned food you can get from you Vet it is AD Science diet when their tummys are out of sorts this work pretty well. I bought a puppy from a breeder and she had horrible coccida. We went through the same thing plus she was a picky eater. You can give her pedilite be careful to cause her aspirate if you give it with a syringe. My vet say boiled egg and cottage cheese. it has always worked for me. Remember she is little and she is only going to eat about tablesoon at a time. Good luck how old is your puppy. Just so you know having this does not make your breeder a bad breeder. It can be brought on totally by stress. |

| my dogs's name is Ava; congrats on the new puppy and sorry to hear that she's not feeling well. when i got mine she was sick too and wasnt eating; she was positive for giardia and was fine after taking the meds. however she's 2 years old now and still have digestive problems; she was admitted to the hospital twice and was diagnosed with gastritis; all this because she wasnt eating and i didnt have experience on what to do. however after i joined YT i learned much. to get her to eat you can start for 2 weeks with boiled chicken and rice; if not then you can give gerber baby food; beef, chicken apple dinner and banana; mix a bit of each and add probiotic and digestive enzymes. then eventually you have to switch to dog food; i have tried everything you can imagine and she wouldnt eat none. until someone recommended the honest kitchen; which is human grade dehydrated raw food; which you can add warm water to. my dog loves it and she eats 4 small meals daily; adn i add digestive enzymes and probiotic. good luck

Tonight I gave her a Stella and chewy's beef patty and she ate it on her own! Not quite the whole patty, but close. Hopefully she is on her way to getting better. In the meantime, I agree with you on the breeder comment. I have learned a lot in the last day and see that these things do happen. My breeder just called me again this evening and we talked at length about what we need to do to keep Ava on the road to getting better. She is very concerned about her and I feel very very good about the support I am getting from her. | |
