I wanted to take credit for it, so that people did not know my age; but felt it unfair to you.

| Mine had it twice about a month inbetween episodes, and that was almost 6 years ago and knock on wood, he hasn't had it since. When I researched it a few months back, I found that they haven't found the actual cause of HGE, so you really can't do anything to prevent it. I do know that quick treatment is the best way to go, as it is life threatening, and can come on very rapidly. Your MO sounds like the best plan to have in place, HGE is not to be played with.

| how is your baby doing? I had a scare two weeks ago dh was gone and i have been working alot and my demi who has never had diarrhea in 5 years had bloody diarhea i freaked ran her to vet as this dog is NEVER sick and of course she is fine never had bloody diarhea again but i jumped the gun lol thinking hge but she said trust me if it was hge your dog would be really sick and you will know it so we chalked it up to stress bc both dh and i were gone alot and we were still not 100% sure it was not my dd with all the health issues as i was out of the room when it happened but in butt inspection lollllll it seemed to be demi my maltese with white hair it is hard to miss but still not 100% sure. She needed her annual exam anyway so we used this situation to get it done but she did say my demi is a chunk i was so bummed as she is my picky eater and she said maybe she is not picky that i may be just feeding her too much - yikes as we add chicken to kibble so i am cutting back kibble some more as she needs to lose a pound we think she weighed in at 7lbs and she should be 6 apparently. Her belly feels tight but rib cage did not feel bad to me and this girl has the perfect poops everytime and very regular and why i panicked when i saw bloody stool |
