| Need HELP! My Yorkie Babies are dying! Ok Long story short my Sassy had 4 babies on the 1st of September. They were real healthy and grew into butterballs. Then last saturday Sassy woke me up shaking like crazy So I took her to the animal hospital and the was dehydrated and had low calcium. The vet told me not to let the puppies nurse anymore and that I had to bottle feed them. Everything was going good until yesterday when one died. The rest are vomiting and pooping water and are very weak. I been giving them albon and some antibiotics but it looks like its not helping. One is crying the death moan as I'm writing this. Please help with any advice that might help me save the rest! Thanks!!! |

| I would get the pups to the vet immediately if you don't know how to subq. Are their gums pale and the skin loose? They sound dehydrated and need IV fluids immediately. These tiny pups can go down hill so fast.

| I'm not sure they need the albon. Why are you giving it? What are you trying to feed them/ do you have any Nutra drops. You need to call the vet immeduiately. if you would pm me, I will give you my phone number. They need fluid. What kind and how much antibotics are you giving them? did the vet tell you to give them albon andd antibotics and why/ is there another vet you can call besides this one? We could help you better if we know the answers. Last edited by Sugar's Mom; 09-25-2009 at 07:47 AM. |

| Hi With the watery poop I was told that it could be coccidia or gardia. So I'm treating them for both. I'm feeding them ESBILAC puppy milk. I'm waiting on the Vet to call me back right now. |

| I wouldn't wait for a call back but would take them in immediately. With pups that are that small with vomiting and diarhea it is a grave emergency requiring a vet. You can't get fluids in them faster than they are losing them. The cause of the diarhea doesn't matter at the moment. Your first concern must be the dehydration, it will kill a small pup very quickly.
