Need HELP! My Yorkie Babies are dying! Ok Long story short my Sassy had 4 babies on the 1st of September. They were real healthy and grew into butterballs. Then last saturday Sassy woke me up shaking like crazy So I took her to the animal hospital and the was dehydrated and had low calcium. The vet told me not to let the puppies nurse anymore and that I had to bottle feed them. Everything was going good until yesterday when one died. The rest are vomiting and pooping water and are very weak. I been giving them albon and some antibiotics but it looks like its not helping. One is crying the death moan as I'm writing this. Please help with any advice that might help me save the rest! Thanks!!! |
Sending prayer's you way. BUMP |
I have nothing that would help. I am so sorry this is happening. OMG. Sending you big hugs, as I can hear the fear in your voice. I am so sorry |
what milk are you feeding them? give them some pedialyte to keep them from dehidrating and call the vet asap.. |
I can only say I would take them some where now!!!! You need some help w/these babies..........and mama.I hope you the best and sending you prayers,Sorry I can't help much more than this |
I would get the pups to the vet immediately if you don't know how to subq. Are their gums pale and the skin loose? They sound dehydrated and need IV fluids immediately. These tiny pups can go down hill so fast. |
bump Honey, Go to the Breeder forum and ask for help. I posted there for you in hopes someone can assist you. |
bump. |
I sent a few PM to some of the breeders for help but please get into the vet for help. :( |
I'm not sure they need the albon. Why are you giving it? What are you trying to feed them/ do you have any Nutra drops. You need to call the vet immeduiately. if you would pm me, I will give you my phone number. They need fluid. What kind and how much antibotics are you giving them? did the vet tell you to give them albon andd antibotics and why/ is there another vet you can call besides this one? We could help you better if we know the answers. |
Hi With the watery poop I was told that it could be coccidia or gardia. So I'm treating them for both. I'm feeding them ESBILAC puppy milk. I'm waiting on the Vet to call me back right now. |

I wouldn't wait for a call back but would take them in immediately. With pups that are that small with vomiting and diarhea it is a grave emergency requiring a vet. You can't get fluids in them faster than they are losing them. The cause of the diarhea doesn't matter at the moment. Your first concern must be the dehydration, it will kill a small pup very quickly. |
I agree with the lady that said, just pack them and take them in I would go to the first closest vet, I have to go out but I will check as soon as I come home, I will say a prayer for you and the babies.. best of luck.. hugs, CArmen in nj |

Oh that's scary. I'll pray for your babies and I hope you're at the Vet. Please keep us updated. :( |
Thanks to all for caring! Mom is ok and I have an appointment at 4 for the the pups. He said he was going to do a fecal examine and that it sounds like one or the other. I know this is where everyone is going to come down on me but I just spent $320 on my Sassy Saturday and cant afford too much more. So before anyone can say it I know I shouldnt be breeding and thats why I'm having her spayed. She and her puppies did so good her last breeding. But I'm not going to take any more chances loosing my baby or hers! |
I am so sorry to hear this I pray the vet can save the rest of the litter. Little ones can go down so fast, they need to be Sub Q first thing I am sure. Have you given them any benebac? Were they taking a bottle well? I Have have heard that cry and it is heart wreching. Prayers for your babies and hopefully the vet can help them out. |
Take them to the vet NOW! |
I sent you a PM. Please let me know if I can help. I would not wait for 4 to see the vet. I'd be there now. But I don't understand your whole situation. I had to bottle feed Diva's babies because of eclampsia too. While you are waiting for the vet, please try to get some pedialyte into them and keep them as warm as possible. Use an eyedropper to give them the pedialyte. Do you have anyone there that can lend a hand right now? |
How horrible! I pray that Sassy and her babies will make it through ok....let us know what the vet saids |

this is heartbraking, I wish I live closer to you, get the peidalyte and feed them some, also you can boil a piece of liver and let the broth cool and give them a few drops, my mentor gave me a list of things to do for emergencies like this.. you MUST get them going until you get them to the vet if you must wait. please let us know how you are doing? |
I'm so sorry that this is happening to you. I would definitely get some warm pedialyte in them and keep them very warm. Any updates? |
I am so sorry to hear your pups are so sick. I agree with all the others, the pups need to see a vet asap. I pray you are able to save them. |
Glad to see the breeder's got here to assist you. Prayer's are being said in hopes the vet can save the remaining babies. I felt so bad for you. I can't imagine the panic you must have been feeling at being helpless. Hope all works out for all of you and those precious babies. Hope Momma is doing better now also. |
Praying everything works out ok :( |
Wow.. this is so sad! I hope you get (saving) answers while at the vet. It is a tragedy to lose so many babies. I'm also praying for healing and health with these babies and their mom |
