Oh my gosh how horrible, my thoughts are with you, the mom and her puppies..I hope they will be okay, I would never be able to breed, it would break my heart :( |
Sorry, I have been gone all day and just got a chance to check online, but others have already given the same advice I would have. Hope you did not wait and took the pups straight in. Getting Subq fluids could very well turn them around quickly. I would insist on them being seen asap. Did their symptoms only start once you began feeding the puppy formula? Maybe it is not agreeing with them. I would think about switching them to Goat's milk. I lost a momma and had to hand feed a litter. They were not gaining much and one was not eating without forcefeeding by syringe. I switched to Goat's milk and they thrived. Low calcium is a common thing to happen to a momma Yorkie, but once the mother's calcium supply has stabilized I don't see why she could not go ahead and nurse. Is she still ill? Are you continuing with calcium? They really need to start a calcium supplement as soon as they deliver and continue it until done nursing. What reason did the vet give not to have her nurse? Are you sure he meant she was not to nurse anymore at all? I know it is difficult to spend money that you may feel you don't have, but please ensure these little ones get the care they deserve. You can spay your girl so this does not happen again. You should be able to sell the puppies to recoup your vet bills. If you cannot bring yourself to do pay for their care, contact a rescue agency immediately to ask for their help in taking over your litter. It would be best to give up the mother along with the puppies, so they really have a good chance of surviving. |
Prayers for all of you. |
Oh my!!! Prayers and thots are with you and your furbabies!!! I, too, will be checking back for an update. I pray you get the help you need!! How heart wrenching and what a terrible ordeal for all! |
I am hoping you all made it to the vet and all is well! |
Please keep us updated. Hope everything at the vet went well. God bless those babies. |
I am following your thread and I hope all your babies are doing well now. Please keep us updated. |
Looking for an update too  |
Hope all is well!:( |
Don't worry honey, nobody is going to beat you up for not having enough money. I just want to thank you for being so honest....I bet their are thousands of YTer's that have entertained the idea of breeding and your post will help them make the hard choice of spaying. As for me, sheer terror would keep me from doing it. These breeders have to have nerves of steel. Your so blessed to have them sending you advise. I am praying for you as I can only imagine how scared you are. Sometimes God quiets the storm and sometimes God lets the storm rage and quites His child. Be quiet in knowing you are not alone. |

No updates...I hope and pray she got them all to the vets ASAP. Let this be a lesson to us all, leave the breeding to those that know and can afford the consequences. Praying for a miracle... |

How are your babies? |
Sending big hugs and kisses your way, hope you find help soon. |
If any hugs and kisses are needed, it is for the poor female who was bred twice in less than a year...and the poor puppies who were dying as she was sitting here typing and not going to a vet. One died the day BEFORE. The OP had no problem selling puppies for $700 less than a year ago and now does not want to spend money on the next litter? :( and...if no money was there..then surrender them to the vet or another breeder, or a rescue......don't sit there and let them cry and have a "death moan" (I quote the op there) They were suffering!!!!! |

I didn't think we were getting this hard hearted, heavens give the poor woman a break, she just lost a litter of pups and I'm sure has a lot of other things going on in her life that we don't know about. Certainly I feel sorry for the pups that didn't make it and that she didn't have the knowledge that some of us have now have that we have collected over a life time. There could have been many who have lost their jobs in her family or she may be about to lose her home. So many things. I have really about had it here. |
:cry:I am so very sorry.I will continue to pray for you and yours. Please post with update everyone one here shares your heart-filled sorrow and are very concerned |

Here is a little "history" of her 7 posts. First this poor thing is 9 months old and she is looking for a first heat to breed. At 10 months she is pregnant with her first litter. She has 1 puppy and it is put up for sale here for $700 http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...orkie-pup.html Now back to breeding her again............ Here look there is her email and phone number maybe we should give her a call and ask her how everything is going since she has not been back. |

It is obvious that some with the negative comments have never lost a newborn animal. I just lost two newborn kittens in two days and I dont think that makes me a bad person just one that is unexperienced with newborn animals. |
This forum has some of the rudest people I have seen yet. Some of these posts on here would scare off a new person looking to find a FRIENDLY, informative, helpful site. Yes, the vast majority here are nice. But knowledge is power, and everyone here wants the same things: furbabies to be taken are of correctly in a loving home. Attacking a poster defeats the purpose of helping us reach that goal. You can't help someone learn the right way or do the right thing if you scare them off with your witchy and catty comments. :thumbdown |
