Will one breeding be enough? HI My Sassy just stopped bleeding and I have only one chance to breed her and was wondering if she mated only once would that be enough for her to get pregnant? Thanks!

Maybe Only 1 breeding could result in a pregnancy, good luck, just count your days and your vet can do an ultrasound around 35 days to be sure.

| We have had ultrasounds done as early as 28 days one a female that had problems with reabsorbing her puppies in late pregnancy...this was done to confirm her pregnancy and to get a count of heartbeats...so we could monitor the loss of any puppies later in pregnancy.

One breeding is all it takes if the timing is right. Like Susan said once the bleeding stops they are usually ready. I usually breed the 9th, 11th and 13th or 14th day of the heat cycle. If I had to choose just one day then I would breed on the 11th day. It is better to be a little early than late since the sperm can live 5 to 7 days.

Ok I breed her yesterday once and she had been stop bleeding for 5 days. I hope she got pregnant. All I can do is wait and get an ultrasound and see for sure. I appreciate all the advice. I will keep everyone posted.
