Multiple shunts per dr tobias :( a yt member needs our help as he just went to dr tobias and they did scintigraphy and found a shunt so when she opened him up he had multiple shunts not just one they did liver biopsy to see if mvd as well so they are waiting on those results. He is inoperable since he has multiple shunts and he is the father of puppies so he is going to call the owners of the puppies as it is family and friends. Dr Tobias said he has about 5-7 years 9 tops - he was not really having alot of symptoms but when they did blood work they noticed high alt and then bile acids were like 198 so I told him to go to tobias since he has family in tennessee so he further checked him out -- I just feel so bad for him and his wife as they are devastated If anyone has any info on multiple shunts that would be great -- I am going to go on to the two liver shunt groups tonight to get more info but thought if someone here has some info that would be great as he has asked me to get as much info as i can for him. The good news is he is not really having alot of symptoms as of yet He needs our prayers and need all the info we can get from him and hopefully some success stories from other multiple shunt survivors as he needs a pick me up

I do believe that on Olgas group there are members with dogs in the same situation. They do a strict routine, RC 14 kibble spread out thru about 6 small mealsl, Vetri DMG and Hepatosupport and Biopectin. I don't think this is a lost cause, it sounds like the family will and can do what it takes to give this fella every chance possible for a happy life

not sure yet as he just had the surgery yesterday as they thought there was one shunt from scintigraphy and when she opened him up there were multiple so he was inoperable I am sure he will email me what she is going to keep him on - she did say it was great that he was not showing any signs and he is i think 2 or 3 years old too

thanks so much I met him on here and he needed someone to talk to so i told him to call me and I had dr dodds review all the information to help him out and so I think he did the right thing in going to dr tobias to get a firm diagnosis especially since there are puppies involved. Really nice guy and loves his little boy so this is really heart breaking for him and i believe they have the female as well

When you talk to him tell him to try to not be too upset. It is great that the boy has been dx and can go onto the right path as far as food and supplements. Honestly I don't agree that he has 5-7 and 9 yrs max. Look at Olga'c Clara, I think she is now 9 and is doing really really well despite being close to death and not given much time to live either. Olga is really really great when it comes to the aftercare and the proper food and supplements and testing. If he needs to talk, she would be who I would recommed as well | |
