| I would make sure that they had a lot of pictures. I would give very graphic details and cry the entire time that they were there. I would explain about the lack of compassion from the police and the fact that justice has not been served. I would make sure to include comments about the land lord. Say what ever is on your heart, they can edit later.

I agree. Most people will be horrified that this killer dog was allowed to roam and enter someone's house. The fact that Minnie was killed just makes it that much worse. Make sure that you say that Minnie was 14 years old--it makes her seem even more like a member of the family. That's older than a lot of kids. | |

I have avoided saying these things in this thread up until now, because I did not want to take away from the fact what an awful thing happened to this precious pupster; and certainly did not want to insinuate it was anyone's fault other than the irresponsible owner of the dog that killed her. Hopefully, this thread, and perhaps the newscast about Minnie, will educate a lot of people about the hidden hazards of doggy doors and walking without leashes. Yorkies are terriers and unless very, very well trained are going to chase if they see something...and if a large animal comes along, they are not going to win. ![]() Perhaps when you speak with this reporter, you could focus some on the above. I also hope this newscast will force animal control to do something....they are so wrong to have treated you as they did and not to handle this situation!

Gather photos of your dog & family that show what a beloved family member she was. Speak honestly and openly about the pain you are suffering, and the frustration that authorities will do nothing. You have been violated, and there must be laws to protect people and animals is such situations. Let Minnie's death not be in vain..... your experience may save others from similar injustice in the future. Sending you comforting hugs, and well wishes, and will look forward to future updates.

| Is this going to be on tonights news? What station is doing it? I want to look it up online once it is done. Good luck with the interview. Minnie would be proud that her mommy is doing this. I hope these people get what they deserve.

| I am sickend by your loss of your precious Minnie . Minnie , safe in your home, attacked by a vicious neighbors dog, going into your HOME ! The neighbors dog was able to run loose enough to where it could go inside anther families home , and kill a innocent, loving little yorkie! And then to be victimized again by the resonding police officers and animal control So the vicious dog was put to sleep, other penalties need to be applied to this tragic case . The neighbors negligence and failure to keep their dog under control, and leashed on their propperty, for starters! I am in agreement , pursue charges against the tenants and lanlord, EVERYONE envolved , who allowed this to happen. Your doggie door was not the issue here. the issue is the vicious dog , being unleashed, and roaming towards your home, entering your home and killing one of your dogs! I am so heartbroken and angry for you. I am glad their wil be media coverage on this. It is an outrage , and ought to be public outcry on this incident. I am truely sorry for your loss of precious Minnie. Justice for Minnie , is what IMO, needs to happen !

| I'm at a loss, I can't understand those people. install a topped fenced dog run. Since they jump the current fence it is NOT adequate. I would also inquire about the property owners responsibility in cases like this and send a copy to him. The property owners might not want such vicious dogs in their home. AND tell them it has to have a concrete or brick bottom so the dog can't dig out, which it will. And call the health Dept about the pool, green water breeds mosquitoes. And they carry all kinds of diseases. If the owners don't want to install a closed pen, tell them to put up barb wire where the og jumped your fence. Let them worry about their dog getting caught up in it. I just can't imagine the pain and suffering you are going thru, and hope I never weill. I think they should be sued. When you own a dog, you are responsible for what they do. They are suppose to be in control of their dog. The fact that they knew their dog jumped the fence and never took precautions so it didn't happen again, shows their clear irresponsibilty as owners. And the hell with the owners of the house. Too bad they are relatives, doesn't mean a thing. They are responsible who they rent too.!!! Sue them too.

| I avoided reading this thread up until now because I just knew it was going to be horribly sad - and I was right. My heart just goes out to your family on the loss of Sweet Minnie. I can't imagine the shock you experienced when you came home and found that dog in your house and saw poor Minnie. It is just awful. Please keep us up-to-date on everything and (((hugs))) to you and your family and your other fur butts.

| Sweetie, When is the news media coming??? Have you already talked to them? I've done this before and want to let you know that they may stay with you filming for 30 minutes, but they will cut and edit your responses so you will need chose you words wisely. But don't be nervous, it's just two people talking and a camera is there...remember that you're doing this for Minnie if you get nervous! Hold a picture of her, with the view of it towards the camera or her favorite toy or something that people can see and will feel your pain. If you have a toddler or are thinking of having a baby soon I'd say how deadly it could have been to the child too or how you don't want to have a baby as long as this can happen with their other dog or that you feel so violated. This dog didn't just come in your doggy door, it jumped your fence and then came in. You had two barriers up to stop this beast and even that didn't stop him. I'm so sorry this has happened and I hope and pray that getting your story out there helps with your grieving process some. ((((((Hugs)))))

| Please let us know when this will be aired and what station. I live in Texas, north of Houston. Do mention that a 14 year old yorkie should have at least 4 years of life remaining as they are long lived dogs and that she was very healthy. Seeing her picture does make it even more heartbreaking. |
