| ![]() Was outside my yorkie who is 3.1lbs and 9 weeks old was on the groung playing I ran inside to get my drink and when I went back 5 seconds later he was yelping and whinning but still on the ground I can't think of what he could have fallen from I grabbed him and ran inside my boyfriend looked at him and we found a splinter we got it out and he stopped whining. I have moved his leg all around and nothing he does not seem bothered if you touch his leg and he will put a little weight on it but he is still limping. I don't know what to do I am thinking of giving it overnight since right now he is sleeping but any thoughts we are thinking his paw is just sore. ![]() |

Hi are you sure it was a splinter ? maybe he got stung and its the stinger. I would keep an eye on it and just give the vet a call and ask what you should do . if it gets red and swells then he probaly got stung. if hes still limping and seems in a lot of pain Id go ahead and take him in to have it checked. | |

| ![]() thanks for the response I am sure it is a splinter he immeaditly stopped whining once we got it out he seems to be fine other wise but he still limps and does not want to walk on it so I am worried that it might be broke, I hope and pray it is just sore and he will be fine in the morning. |

| ![]() Hope your little one is feeling better. A word to the wise, never leave him alone outside, to many critters could grab him like hawks, coyotes etc.

| ![]() Thanks to everyones response I am happy to report he is 100% better and I am so relived he really had me scared last night. He started out a little slow not really wanting to put his paw down but once he got going it was like nothing ever happened he has been running around and playing like crazy back to his sweet playfull self. Did call the vet and talk to her and she told me that his paw was probally just a little sore from the splinter and to get a close eye on him but she thought he would be just fine. Thanks again ![]() |
