| ![]() Flagyl can temporarily affect bloodwork values. I think canned pumpkin can help produce firmer stools, not the pie mix, but the plain pumpkin. Tinkerbell will be 3 years old on Sept 4.

| ![]() That's interesting! Where do I get plain pumpkin? You mean like a REAL pumpkin from a garden? Autumn's stool has blood in it now, I could just sit down and cry! |

| ![]() Hopefully her intestines may be irritated. Is the blood bright or dark red?

| ![]() So she gets bouts of diarrhea and has a BUN of 38? Did I get this right? Can you post her bloodwork? The BUN could be up for something as simple as dehydration. Why not just check some urine? If you can't get any, I'd just go ahead and let the vet do it. It isn't a big deal for them and you need answers... I know hamburger is often recommended for stomach upset, but I have found that beef can cause more problems than what it's worth. How about switching your protein source? What intestinal testing has been done?

| ![]() Thanks, yes all the test were done back then. "creatinine is the most important one as bun is more of a dehydration issue but if both bun and creatinine are high that is when you have problems" Very true statement. It's been 1 yr to date that the nightmare started for us. We did everything we could for 2 months and Halloween was when she had enough and we laid her to rest....Still very painful. Our new baby (we had him 9 mo now) is such a blessing, he's was the best medicine for our loss. We love him so much.

| ![]() Mentioned this about the Flagyl at the vets office tonite and she got very annoyed with me. She said NOT possible and I'm not sure where you are getting your information. She said long term can cause some things, but not being on it for ten days. ![]() |

| ![]() I can't find anyone in town who has this. I asked someone if I could just cook a real pumpkin and they said no, that's not the same as organic. |

| ![]() I was told there was a new one that just opened, I stopped two places and asked and drove around for 30 min. No one seems to know where it is. |

You don't need to use organic. Just the regular grocery store. Libby's brand is very popular. It is just pure pumpkin with no spices. It doesn't always have the desired affect though. It can cause stool to become softer.
