See that is what Susan told me remember Debbie but I know better and put Izzy on NB Fish and Sweet Potato. She also said down the road I could change her to duck and potato but I'm not doing that either.

| My vet takes all prescription foods back if my pups do not like them! Purina and Hills do give credit for that...just an fyi for those of you stuck with prescription foods.

| Therapy Dog Donating Member | Yes but we didn't formally do the scoping but my vet strongly believes Izzy has Pancreatitis/SIBO/IBD - the IBD brought on the pancreatitis and that's what Susan agrees with too.

OMG really? Do you need the receipt? Because I had to get the Purina HA from another local vet since our vet does not carry Purina - only the SD. Thanks for the info Ladyjane!!

| The only thing I did differently that Susan said was I took Bailey off the canned pumpkin. He was a pooping machine. He's regular without it and doesn't need it on a regular basis. I make sure he has his vegetable and stuff but the pumpkin was just making him poop too much! LOL

| I have never had to produce a receipt, but I would think you can only take it back where it was purchased.

We had Hill SD Z/D and Purina HA (about $90 worth together ) and the vet took it all back. The companies will take the food back. Don't let 'em cheat you outta your money.

| Is it true that dogs with pancreas issues should not eat flaxseed? Some dry kibble does contain this ingredient.

| I'm not really sure why it is in dog food at all, but I don't see anything about it being dangerous to pancreatitis patients yet. Any links?

| Sorry, can't remember where in my readings I came across it, probably somewhere on YT. My vet said because his BAT was completely normal in June, right now I should focus on his current "crisis." What do you think about the kibble I am feeding Sadie, California Naturals. It has 21% protein and either 10 or 11% fat, I threw out the bag. The RC LS which I am using short-term has 14% fat which is too high. Just a thought.
