| First Time Concern My wife and I just bought a yorktese puppy from a pet store about two weeks ago. I've had dogs before, but never cared for one on my own before. I've always had the knowledge and reassurance of another person. He's four months old. He's the best little dog you could ever ask for. He's active, but not too hyperactive and amazingly loving. I just adore him. My only concern is that for the past few days he's had a dry, warm nose. I honstly feel like a first time mother who wants to take her child to the doctor each time he/she hiccups, but I just rather be safe than sorry. He eats up the wet food we give him, but snacks on his dry food. I'm considering changing his dry food to see if maybe he's just not interested in the taste of it. The other day he pooped and it looks almost reddish. It's not happened since. If anyone can help me to be reassured that I'm just paranoid or give me advice on maybe something that might be wrong I'd grately appreciate it. Thank you so much! |

| Have you taken him to the vet for a health check since you bought him? I would do that immediately especially since you bought him from a pet store, which more than likely means he came from a puppy mill and who knows what he could or could not have. The good thing is he is eating. I would highly recommend getting this pup to the vet to let them check him out to make sure he is 100% healthy. Red poo doesn't sound normal to me... unless he is eating red food? I don't know... have to look that one up.

| I second the need to take him for a vet check ASAP. Pet store puppies contract all sorts of things. And I do understand about loving him so much. My Yorkies have my heart. ~Joanne~

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome !!! If you haven't had a vet visit I would. Make sure to have a fecal test done so they can check for any parasites, it is not uncommon in puppies. Sounds like he is in good hands!
